Jayleen's Pov
After my date, I mean dinner- Friday I haven't been the same. I've been happier, I smile more.
"I know he's our teacher Em but I can't help it, he's so cute." I gush like a thirteen year old.
"Babygirl you got it bad, must be nice though" she sighs
"well I haven't exactly told him we aren't official."
"do you want to be?"
"I don't know... hey I have to go Kaylie is back and I have to talk to her about a lot."
"Okay call me later good luck hun bun."
"thanks em" I laugh and hang up the phone.
I walk downstairs and I see Kay with her bags entering the house for the last time.
"How was your stay?" I say
"It was fun I have a surprise for you." she smiles at me
"What is it?" I ask nervously
She flings out her hand from behind her back and shows me this huge ring on her ring finger.
"oh my god! You're engaged?"
"Yeah we get married in June." she says with a huge smile on her face.
"That is amazing who is the guy?"
"He's a childhood friend I've known him forever, his name is Chase."
She just smiles and gushes all over the house, which makes it harder for me to tell her about me and Adam.
"Kay I have to tell you something to tell you." I sit her down on the couch, she nods me on
"Me and Danny went out to dinner yesterday..."
For a second she looked confused and then she started to laugh
"I can't hold it in anymore, I knew I could get you jealous enough so you would want to date him." she did a victory dance.
"what are you talking about"
"nothing" with that she kissed my forehead and got up and walked into the kitchen.
"Jayleen, I'm moving back home after the wedding."
I felt my world crash around me and I felt the hair was knocked out of me.
"What! How could you leave me?"
"Babe I'm sorry its not like that."
"Of course its not I'm sorry, I need air." I run out before she could see me crying.
You can say me running out is being a little dramatic but, when you have let someone into your life to take care of you and then they disappear it takes a toll.
Once I'm at the park I sit on the first park bench I see, put my hands on my knees and just look at the river ahead. I feel someone sit next to me but I ignore them.
"I wouldn't picture you as an outdoor person." I don't even have to look over to know who it is.
"I'm not."
"Then what are you doing all aloe at the park Miss Smith." he chuckles
"I need a new roommate after I graduate." I turn to him to see him in a ripped muscle tank top.
"Why?"
"Kaylie got engaged and is moving out after the wedding."
"I'm sorry Jay." he says pulling me into a hug.
I shrug and stand up, "Why are yo here?"
"Can't you tell, I was on a run."
"Oh duh." I groan and shuffle my feet on the ground.
Should I tell him how I feel? I wouldn't want it to change everything. I am forgetting he is my teacher I need to get my head out of whatever funk I am in and go back to how it was before. we can't make this work. Ever.
"I have to go Mr. Adams."
"okay, let me drive you home."
"No I can walk back I walked here just fine."
Once I got back home I called for Kaylie, but she was already running down the stairs to meet me. I ran to her to give her the biggest hug.
"I'm so sorry I acted like a child I should have talked to you."
"Honey it's oaky it all is a little much and I understand, I would never leave you ever I am so sorry I made it seem that way."
"No kay none of this is you fault, I love you and I am forever thankful to have you."
For the rest of the night Kaylie and I spent to night on the couch watching movies and just catching up.
Sunday Emily came over and we start to help Kay pick a wedding dress, just start she won't know exactly what she wanted till almost time. Also we worked on colors for the wedding most of the stuff she has to do with Chase, you know husband and wife stuff.
Now its Monday and I tried going through the day not thinking about 6th period. At lunch time I needed to get some book for my book report in economics. As I was walking to the library but my name was called.
I turn around to see Adam coming my way.
"What Adam?" I roll my eyes
"Uh... I was wondering if you wanted to grab lunch." he raises a eyebrow.
"I have to go to the library, actually so no I can't."
"What about later today are you free?"
"No I am not, Adams...." I look around the hallway and luckily I see Jordan just the person I needed to see. "Jordan wait up I need to talk to you." I walked away from Adam not sparing him another glance.
"What's up?"
"Do you want to go get something to eat after my volleyball practice? Its on me." I smile at him.
"Yea sure I'll like that, but how about I pay?"
"I mean if you want." I blush, he chuckles and takes a piece of my hair and curls it.
"I love your hair."
"Oh stop it." I playfully hit his chest "I am on my way to the library want to join me?"
"Wouldn't kill me" he shrugs
"I might"
