3:05 AM. My hands were rugged from all the work I pulled last night, scootin' shit all around and kicking boxes. Nah, not really.. but that's how I felt there. Lotta work. Mrs. Pitifoce (Mrs. Pissface on my terms) the bitchin' manager decided to make me stay another 6 hours because I haven't spent any overtime. No extra pay, and bad enough that Erika's pregnant already. I wanna keep a good family for her, Y'know. Wanna watch the boy grow up to be a man, strong like his daddy and say to me "Dad! You're the greatest and strongest man on the planet!" Cutesy shit like that. But I'm just gonna have to press on for now, life works like that.
The the earthquake came in like a bitch, came the hurricane and the massive destruction killing lotsa people. The town's a mess. 3:05 AM. Signal lost. You never realize just how much you rely on technology until it's taken away from you and you scramble like a rat. Ohio's a mess already with the flooding and all, and I drove to the nearest church hall in my truck. Place was awful I tell ya. Dead bodies were lined outside and the place was all leaky and torn. Early morning and not a breath again. I'm a tough roughin' boy and death don't bother me any. Shoot animals dead a lot. Climbed back into my Chevy and decided to scout the lands to find anyone alive.
And that's when.. The townfolk were much different.
