Reader's P.O.V.

Shit, I'm late. I think as I run down the sidewalk. Today is my first day at Fukurodani Academy and I've already messed up by snoozing my alarm one too many times.

I swear I have never ran this fast in my life before, and I'm pretty sure that I'll still be late no matter what. But hey, teachers would prefer to see you run in like you actually tried.

Time is ticking and the busy streets don't help me at all. I make it to the last stoplight I need to cross in order to make it to school on time. Some cars cross, and I'm starting to get extremely irritated at how I can walk to the other side right now and not get hit by a car. My eye twitches in irritation as another section of cars are able to go, and I slam the button to cross. A different section of cars drive onward, and I let out a sigh of frustration.

"Fuck it." I mutter under my breath, stepping onto the road. I've only gone two steps ahead when a car begins to turn and make its way towards me. The driver is on his phone, not even paying attention to me. Well, maybe it's my mistake for crossing when I'm not supposed to, but he shouldn't be on his phone anyway!

I take a step back but my heel rubs against the concrete road, causing me to stumble back. I shut my eyes closed to brace myself for impact, until I feel a hand grab my wrist and pull me back further, and I fall into someone's arm. The moment I felt that hand wrap around my wrist, I feel a surge of butterflies in my stomach.

Hesitantly, I slowly open my eyes and come face to face with a boy about my age. He has grey eyes with a bit of blue in them, and in all honesty, I could get lost in them for hours.

"Are you okay?" He asks me, snapping me out of my trance. I scramble to stand back up, surprising him, though he doesn't necessarily show it too much.

"Hah! Yeah, I'm fine!" I say, placing my hands on my hips,"But no need to worry about me, I'm capable of taking some bumps and bruises-"

"You almost got hit by a car." The boy bluntly states, causing my eyebrow to twitch a bit in annoyance.

Okay, so you're the blunt type, I think.

"But I didn't." I push on, winking at him. He just stares at me, as if silently judging me. "What-"

"Are you new?" He asks. My eyes widen a bit at his question, though I shouldn't be too surprised, since he is wearing a Fukurodani uniform too.

"Yup!" I reply, grinning at him. My heart stops as I notice him slightly raise an eyebrow.

"What are you doing here so early?" The mystery boy asks,"School starts at 8:15." I stare at him with a poker face for a few seconds before checking the time on my phone.

Are you kidding me? It's fucking 7:15. I WOKE UP AN HOUR EARLIER THAN I NEEDED TO BECAUSE I MISREAD THE SCHEDULE.

"God damnit." I mutter under my breath,"Well, it's too late to go back now, it's such a long walk and- wait. . . Why are you here so early?!"

"I'm part of the volleyball club." He says,"Practice starts in a few minutes. If you'd prefer not walking out in the cold any longer, I can ask if you could stay and watch." My face turns a bit red at his suggestion and I nod slightly.

"Yeah, that could work." I mumble, looking down at my shoes,"I-I'm L/N F/N by the way, year 2 class 6. And before you say or think that it's weird that some seemingly dumb girl made it to class 6-"
