'“Noelle you’re going to love the new place” My mom gushed from the front as my dad drove, I rested my head against the window bored and annoyed “Course” I mumbled. I traced the pattern on a novel that I recently bought, “You’re room is huge” My dad tried to start a conversation “That’s nice” I hummed.

After endless tries to start a conversation with me my parents both gave up, I picked up my book and began to dive into the story, devouring page by page. My mind completely focused on the teenage love story about mysterious creatures that I knew couldn’t exist in such my world.

“Were here” My mom snapped me out of my book. I breathed in the cold foreign air as I climbed out of the car; my eyes scanned my new surroundings everything was dark and quiet “You like it?” My mom elbowed me with hopeful eyes “It’s nice” I gave her a small smile “Let’s go bring in your stuff” My dad boomed with an encouraging smile, I nodded not bothering to respond

After countless times of walking in and out the door to unload, we finally finished. I found my lips curving into a small smile as I saw my room, it was plain, and I loved it. “You like it” My dad smiled behind me, “It’s amazing” I nodded “Go get unpacking, then you can get a good night’s rest” My dad nudged me

I stuffed all my clothes neatly into my drawers and organized all my books, and by 2 hours I was completely unpacked. My heart clenched as I picked up the last box, instead of looking away I picked up the old frame and set it up on my dresser.

Only 7 years later and that old frame still sits in the same place, untouched. Only three years after moving in my parents were killed. Everyone says it was a accident but for some reason i have a deep feeling that it wasn't. Tears escaped my eyes as I whipped the dust of the top. We were so happy, so unbroken. Now I'm left with only my little brother and our aunt to take care of me. I grabbed a shirt and threw it over my black tank top and grabbed my shoes.

"Good morning Noelle" I smiled at my aunt as she cooked breakfast. I always loved how the room was open to the dinner room the deep red always went good against the white. Scarlet knew I never really preferred eating a big breakfast but it was the first day of my junior year so i decided to set down with Eli and Scar. I moved to the table after grabbing my plate and sat as we began descussing the future year. Soon it became time to leave for school so i grabbed my bag and my keys and waited for my brother to catch up.

"are you okay?" Eli asked as I pulled into the school. "I know todays hard but its hard on the both of us, not just you." I got out and walked away trying to ignore the fact that today was the day that mark the anniversay of the day that my parents passed away.
