Raven stretched as her phone rang and she growled irritated, there was only one person in the world who dared to call and wake her before 9 in the morning.

"Hey Tom, you know it is only 7 am right ?" She said tired down into the phone and yawned loudly.

He laughed low at the other end. "Not here, it's 11 pm, but I just wanted to hear if you are free tomorrow? I will land just after noon and thought to invite a few people over for a barbecue."

"And let me guess, you would appreciate if I also just go shopping and make sure everything is in order right ?" She said teasingly.

She knew him well enough to know that his head was slightly tilted and he was making puppy dog eyes right then, after all, they had known each other for 10 years. "Could you sweetie ? It would just be so super."

"Yes, yes, just send a list and Tom ? You know, I can't see your doggy eyes through the phone right ?" She said resignedly.

She always had a hard time saying no to him, luckily he was also always there if she needed help. "But you can see them before you, I know."

"You are really crazy sometimes, but I am looking forward to see you, you've been over there in La la land too long." She hadn't seen him in almost five months.

When he was home they would see each other several times a week, but only as friends, they have never been anything more than friends. "I have also missed you birdie..  are you going bring that guy, what's his name ?"

"Tom, do not call me that and no, I dumped him almost a month ago.. but I have gotten a new girlfriend, I can take her?" She thought that her newest friend Sarah would love to come along.

Tom said resignedly. "He didn't stick around for long, what was wrong with him? And a girlfriend it sounds kinky."

"Oh God Tom could you have a dirtier mind, that shows a need for a lover. Not that kind of girlfriend, that phase I am over and he was too demanding". She responded and rolled her eyes.

He sounded curious. "That friend of yours, is she cute? Let me guess, he began to talk villa, volvo and doggy and you ran off with your tail between your legs ?"

"Yes, she's kinda hot, because that's what you're asking about right ? But now do not fuck this up, I'm tired of losing my girlfriends because they will not see you again Hiddles and yes he started talking engagement ". She said.

He laughed again. "Hey, I am sure I haven't hooked up with that many of your friends, only a few.. oh Well, then you had to better run, imagine if you were to be tempted to settle down".

"I will not name names right ? Because I can name at least 6-7 without having to think about it and you should not be the one to talk, you have not exactly settled down and you are actually somewhat older than me." She says teasingly.

She got up, she would never be able to go back to sleep now. She puts him on speaker. "What can I say, you have good taste in girlfriends, and I am not that old miss thing, I'm just not the marrying kind.. hey, did you put me on speaker ?"

"Not really being a good example then, neither am I and yes you are on speaker, I'm about to take of my pajamas." She said and pulled the top of.

She had just tossed the panties as he asks. "Undressing.. then you are all naked now ?"

"Seriously don't they have women in LA ? We'd better find yourself a girlfriend, but yes I am actually stark naked right now." She said with a giggle.

He sighed. "Yes, there is certainly plenty of women, but I haven't had time.. I have practically only seen the others in the cast, and as you know, I never mess around with women I work with."

"Ohh your poor little thing, we then have to find you a girlfriend, you must indeed be desperate, and I who thought I had it bad.. but well here it has, after all, just been a month." She said, finding some clothes to put on after the bath.

His voice only halfway kidding. "We'll help each other find lovers, but I'd better scurry, see you tomorrow sweetie".

"Yes see you Tom and remember to send the list". She ended the call and went to the bathroom. Afterwards she would call Sarah and ask if she would go shopping with her.

"Hey Sarah, I'm glad you wanted to give me a hand it is a really long list." She smiled happily at her friend coming towards her outside the store.

Sarah smiled back, her freckled nose wrinkling up. "Of course, but now you have to tell me what kind of a party this is."

Raven walked towards the store, Sarah falling in beside her. She had not told Sarah who her best friend Tom was.. it would almost always end up with them begging to meet him when she told a new friend.. she had known Sarah in just over three months and she hoped she was different.

"It is Tom, you know my best friend I told you about? He comes home after five months in LA and he is holding a small party.. you're invited." She said.

Sarah took one of the wagons. "Cool, then I finally meet him your mysterious friend, it'll be fun".

"Uhh yeah, I'd better tell you the truth so you do not get a shock, he has been in LA to make a movie, Tom's last name is Hiddleston". She awaited a reaction.

Sarah's blue eyes went huge. "Oh shit, your Tom is that Tom.. now I understand better why you've been a little secretive.. you're probably accustomed to your girlfriends begging to meet him".

"Well I can safely say he has cost me more girlfriends than I bother counting." They went into the store.

Sarah looked at the list that Raven had written on a piece of paper and stapled on the wagon. "It sounds sad.. I mean I think he is quite cute, but I would never pester you to meet him, but of course I don't have to".

"That's not always their fault, just so you're warned, Tom is ... Yes he is Tom and he has been busy in LA for 5 months.. he is, what should we call it, uhh desperate". Raven took something off the shelf.

Sarah made big eyes and took something else on the list. "So what you're saying is that he has not been able to keep his hands off your girlfriends and.. he's a player ?"

"Hmm Tom's just .. Well he is not evil, he's just not that good at staying focused.. he quickly loses interest and then the women gets acidic and demanding and then he is done with them". Raven put something down the cart.

Sarah followed her. "It's kind of a shame it is you losing out when it's your girlfriends, he always seems like a nice guy".

"He really is, sorry if it sounded negative.. he is truly the sweetest, most loving, most helpful man you ever can imagine". She said with a smile.

Sarah looked at her. "If he is so perfect, why are two so only friends ? Have you never considered otherwise ?"

"Me and Tom ? No never.. I don't see him that way he is my best friend." Raven said with a laugh. She might have considered it once.. in the beginning, but it was many years ago.

A little later Sarah asked a bit uncertain. "Not that it matters, but will there be other celebrities you think ?"

"Well I'm sure Ben will be there, they are best friends". Raven said, as far as she knew Ben was in town for the moment.

Sarah blushed a bit and looked dreamily into the distance, while she put something in the cart. "Uhh I always thought he was so cute".

"Ben is one of the sweetest guys and he's single too". Raven said flashing a smile, thinking that Sarah was actually just Ben's type.. maybe she should try to set something up there.
