" Because that was the past." Hunter glared at the snooty prince. " I'm not going to let the past break me apart from what I need to do now. And now, I'm here to do what's right."
" And what did that have to do of crashing my wedding?" Simon asked as Ashlynn rolled her eyes. She had some urge to slap him in the face. But she had to control herself, but it didn't meant she wouldn't do it anytime soon.
" Because I love her..." Hunter faced Ashlynn.
" And I love him...." Ashlynn replied.
" What....?" King Lowell growled as he stomped up to the two.
" I knew you were trouble the moment I heard about you..." Lowell glared at him. Then he shot his face to his daughter.
" This is a disaster...you hear me?" he snapped.
" Maybe if you just-" Ashlynn started to speak.
" Don't reply to me!" Lowell snapped.
" Your majesty," Hunter said. " If you listened to your daughter then none of this would have ever happened. I know you are an important man and you have many goals to reach, believe me. But there is a time for everything, I've learned that."
The whole room went silent once again. Some looked at the person on their right or left and nodded. King Lowell softened his look a bit. He called Edward and Herald over.
" Cancel the wedding." he whispered.
After one or two hours later, everyone had left the palace. Prince Simon along with his family left at once back home. And they weren't happy, especially the prince. In fact, when they were about to leave, Simon pulled out a knife threatening the two. Some guests left mumbling because they had cancelled important plans for a crashed ceremony. Some even tried to talk some "sense" into the king's mind that a Huntsman was talking to him. But the servants and maids seemed to look very pleased. At least they didn't look upset.
The castle gates were empty and the interior's decorations were being taken down. Hunter offered to help some of the servants take down away accents in hard-to-reach places.
Ashlynn raced back to her bedroom and swiftly took off the dress and wiped out her makeup. Then she threw the gown upon her bed and put on her regular outfit. She told the maids to not worry about her bedroom and offered to help them with something else.
The castle was clear of decorations and Ashlynn was looking out onto the castle balcony for the first time ever. Dawn was creeping onto the sky. She suddenly heard footsteps behind her. The princess turned around to see Hunter.
" Today has been a long day..." Hunter smiled. Ashlynn walked closer to him.
" It sure has...I'm glad everything's back to normal." Ashlynn gave a warm smile.
" And thank you...for everything." Ashlynn added.
" Anything for you." Hunter smiled.
