(Ship: Anahardt)
Reinhardt was never one to back down. This, Ana knew. So when the Overwatch Team gathered onto a bus (driven by Reinhardt) Ana knew that it might be a long drive.
Some 3 days into the trip, Ana still had not seen Reinhardt stop driving except to get out and stretch his legs while everyone ate. From what she knew, he hadn't even stopped to sleep. She could see it in his weary expression.
It was the middle of the night when Ana woke up to find Reinhardt still driving, shaking his head every now and again to keep himself awake. Everyone else was dead asleep, curled up with their significant other, if they had one.
"Reinhardt." she spoke, her voice tired, but stern.
Reinhardt immediately perked up, turning his head to look at his accomplice. He laughed joyously, although there was a tone of exhaustion in his voice.
"Ana, you're awake! It gets very boring at night." he grinned, happy to have someone to talk to.
Ana smiled gently, standing from her seat to stretch. She then walked over to the front seat, watching the scenery go by.
"Have you even stopped to sleep?" she queried after a moment.
Reinhardt was silent, the smile dropping from his face as he glanced to Ana guiltily. He knew he was in trouble. With a nervous chuckle and a scratch of the back of his head, he responded hesitantly.
"Well... You see... Uh, well, I had a bet with Scout that I could get there before he and his friends could. Soo...." he cautiously murmured, looking away.
Ana sighed lightly before tugging on his arm.
"Pull over, Reinhardt. Let me drive for a while." she said gently.
Reinhardt turned his attention to her for a moment, bewildered. He had been bracing himself for a stern talking-to, not an offer to hand over the wheel.
"Nonsense, Ana. I can handle myself." he insisted, turning back to the road.
"So can I, Reinhardt. Besides, everyone needs to sleep, even you." she countered, resting her hand on his shoulder.
Reinhardt didn't respond for a few minutes, before pulling over into a little rest stop. He then pulled himself out of the driver's seat, and got onto one knee, pulling Ana into a big bear hug. Ana felt a bubbling feeling of joy inside her as she returned the hug, wrapping her arms around Reinhardt's neck in an embrace. Reinhardt let out a loud sigh before speaking.
"Thank you, Ana. You are amazing." he whispered, somehow actually being quiet for once in his life.
A long smile spread over Ana's face, blushing lightly. She couldn't see the large smile that Reinhardt had, however, it put even the brightest smile in the world to shame.
"Reinhardt, it is my pleasure. You deserve the best after everything you've done for this world – for me." she replied, whispering the last part so quietly that Reinhardt could only barely hear it.
After a few minutes, he broke off the hug and proceeded to the back of the bus, yelling at Hanzo and McCree to "Move over and make room for your tired elder".
Ana giggled, shaking her head, before sliding into the front seat and starting up the bus again. Reinhardt was stubborn, but occasionally, it could be adorable.
And Ana loved him that way.
(Sorry if I have Rein a little out of character XD - I figure he'd be a lot less stubborn when he's tired, tbh. Anyways, hope you enjoyed!)
