The song works for both of the scenarios listed at the end of this page right along with You and Slaine's character. If you chose to be a villager who in which used to be great friends with Slaine, this shows how he simply cut you off with no word. Once he became Prince, you and him lost all contact with each other and he just simply ignored you. He used to be a kind-hearted person who never wanted to become a ruler but he is one. The same works for the other scenario where you are a prince of a nearby kingdom. Neither one of you wanted to become a ruler and promised that you'd stay best friends in the village.
