~~Valentine's Day, nighttime~~
|Fallon's P.O.V.|
I drop my pencil onto the kitchen island, smiling broadly as I finish up my last, big essay in English for this year. Being a senior, we get out earlier than the other grades. We usually get let out of school late March, maybe early April. I'm ready to just go to college already. I've wanted to go to college in New York since I was like 7. I sigh and grab my vans book bag, shoving my English notes inside it before taking out my AP Calculus homework. Ew.
I being tapping my pencil to some random song as I stare at my problem. I hate Calculus. I hear my front door open, and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. My dad isn't suppose to get home till the early morning? Oh god someone broke into my house. I'm going to die now. I jump from my seat and onto the floor, crawling my way to the other side of the kitchen. I reach into a drawer and bring out a fork. I guess it'll work. I try to think of what Dallas had taught me about self-defence. 'Fists high, aim for the nose, when they're guard is down you grab the hair and bang their head onto your knee. Make sure to kick them in the crotch if it's a male'.
I walk slowly towards the kitchen door, which was, sadly, wide open. I peek out into my living room, keeping my grip on the fork tight.
"What are you doing?"
I scream and turn around, already recognizing the deep Irish voice.
"How did you...?" I stutter, my heart still thudding in my chest. I honestly should've of known it was Niall, he seems to have a habit of coming into people's houses without their consent.
Niall smirks, "I came in when you we're crawling on the floor, figured I'd just leave you to whatever it is you were doing."
I blush in embarrassment. I then throw the fork in Niall's direction, completely missing him, before sitting back down at the island. "You know, you could give me a heads up before you come over. You have my cell number."
He just shrugs before sauntering over to me, taking a seat next to me. I sigh as I focus back on my math homework. I'm not even going to bother asking Niall why he's here, besides, I definitely don't mind. Suddenly, a single red rose is dropped in front of me, on my notebook page. I look up at Niall, giving him a questioning look. We stare at each other for a moment. I turn away and pick the rose up, careful not prick my fingers on any of the thorns.
"Thank you. But.. Why exacly did you bring me a red rose?"
"Uh, cause it's Valentine's Day. But don't get too excited, I just stole it from you're neighbors' rose garden."
"Oh.. I forgot it's Valentine's today."
Niall laughs, "You forgot Valentine's Day? Isn't it suppose to be this big fucking deal with girls?"
I shrug my shoulders, "I guess so, but it never was for me. Remember, Drew was my only boyfriend. Ever. So, I don't ever exactly look forward for Valentine's."
Niall just nods his head.
I grin, "Thanks though. Red roses are my favorite."
"I told you, I just picked it up on my to your door."
"I know." I smile.
Niall just rolls his eyes at me, and glances at my paper, "Calculus?"
"Yeah." I think for a moment, "Hey Niall?"
"Hmmm?"
"Did you ever finish high school? Or got to Uni?"
Niall frowns, "I ended up finishing high school, mostly cause Louis made me. But, no. I didn't go to Uni."
