"You have your robes, right Deirdre?" The young Willam asked, fastening himself like a shadow to her side. The girl either did not notice it as strange or did not mind, for all she did was a distracted nod while endlessly staring into the suitcase.
"I got into Hogwarts..." her voice, as soft as silk, flowed from her lips and into William's ears, and Will smiled and nodded.
"You did, DreDre." He offered the young girl a kind smile and she accepted it, the corners of her own lips cornering upwards.
Without another word she opened a book and immersed herself into it.
"What are you doing? Leave the studying for school!" Will grumbled, annoyed but smiling. It was exactly like Deirdre to study before anything.
'Probably a Ravenclaw,' he thought.
"You can never be too prepared..." she murmured. He turned away to make sure he had everything packed.
Well, everything except the long list of textbooks, his future wand, and his familiar that he would get in Diagon Alley in 3...

POP! Grandmom Alexis Apparated right in front of the door, fixing her witch's clothing and smiling heartily.
"Ready, kids?" She asked, her voice filled with jolly. William smiled with a steady "Yes!" And Deirdre nodded once.
"Hold on to me then, kids!" She yelled, and the two eleven-year-olds clung to her pullover.
The popping sound once resonated again, and the room fell into silence as soon as its master left.

Oh how Deirdre hated Apparation, however many times she did it, she never seemed to get used to it. It was probably because of the smaller size and weight, maybe even the lower balance. There were some things Deirdre never recovered from, and it showed.
It was over soon, but it took Deirdre a couple minutes to collect herself. Will stood next to Deirdre, worried, but not extensively. Deirdre refused to use anything other than Floo powder and Apparation, and flat-out refused to use any Muggle means of transport. Moving items she could not control seemed to frighten the girl into hysterics, so Grandmother Alexis strayed from those.
Once Deirdre had finished recuperating, Will started to bounce around the stores in Diagon Alley. Deirdre held her Hogwarts course book list like her life depended on it.
Maybe it did.
Diagon Alley was crowded, much too crowded for Deirdre's liking. Deirdre huddled close to Grandmother Alexandra, grasping the elderly's hand tightly. She took a glance to the books on her list:
A Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1)
By Miranda GoshawkA History of Magic
By Bathilda BagshotMagical Theory
By Adalbert WafflingA Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration
By Emeric SwitchOne Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi
By Phylidda SporeMagical Drafts and Potions
By Arsenius JiggerFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
By Newt ScamanderThe Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection
By Quentin Trimble(Lorde did that take me forever)
She tugged on the elderly's sleeve, and when she felt Alexis's eyes on her, she pointed to the books.
Grandmother Alexis nodded, waving Will back over and directing the children to the book store. Deirdre didn't bother read the name. She was too excited. Hogwarts! Books! Houses!
Everything was just perfect.
