My Friend, I watch as

life escapes you

hidden from the world

closeted by those hospital drapes

Can he hear me speak?

mumbling words

hard to tell

want to yell

You can't leave us yet

Why couldn't we make you quit?

Why did you keep shooting that shit?

2.

So alive in the photographs

the pictures running

through my mind

No Shadow on the face

so bright, full of life

Stranger, sick in a blue paper gown

I'm falling down

but standing on ground

Grams of life slipping away.

3.

The couch is empty

it can't be true

the room still

holds the essence of you

I catch myself

talking in the past,

try to stay in the present

but it won't last

I'm not sure if these are three different poems or three parts of the same one...
