Aspen Jones's POV (Restria)

"King!" I shouted pushing through the large doors of the king's room. This wasn't anything new for the king, I barged in all the time. I worked for King Simon ever since I was little, about 7 years old.  I started working for him after my parents both died of a disease, since the king knew my parents well he took me in. "What is it, Aspen?" The king asked me as I walked closer to him with rage clear on my face. "I have news on the Zandralians." I responded. I laid out a map of all the kingdoms on his desk, "There, that's Zandralia. I have noticed they are growing faster than any other kingdom. I have been keeping an eye out on them." I said looking at the king, it was my job to always notify the king if I felt we had a problem. King Simon looked down at the map, "I don't see the problem." King Simon said confused. "They will soon outnumber us!" I snapped. "So what? We will still remain the strongest kingdom in the region." King Simon responded. "No, that's the thing. They are not only largest but now they are the getting stronger and stronger! If we want to remain the best kingdom we need to do something about them! People from our kingdom are even leaving to Zandralia, luckily Zandralia is getting too expensive for some but still many people are leaving." I yelled, the king was always so stubborn, he never understood me. "I see, so what do you want me to do?" The king asked. "I want you to realize that they are a threat! They will end up destroying our kingdom!" I yelled. Simon looked at me, "I can't, they have never done wrong to our kingdom. Why start a war when there is no point?" Simon asked me. I grabbed the map from his desk, "If you won't do anything about them then I will." I yelled running out of the room. I could hear the King talking to his son form outside his room, "I don't know what to do with her, greed is starting to control her." I heard Simon say. Greed? He thinks I'm being greedy? I wiped a tear from my eye. It's not greed, I just don't want to lose everything again.  I ran out of the castle in tears.

When my parents died I was alone. They weren't the only thing that died, my happiness died with them. I relied on my parents for everything, I ended up becoming stronger. Their death caused me to realize I need to rely on myself and no one else.

I sat on a rock inside the Castle garden I heard footsteps approaching and I quickly stood up wiping tears away. "What are you doing in here?" Len asked. Len was the King's son he was the second most trusted in the kingdom after the king. Len was known to have powers, like me, but his powers were different. His magic was a rare magic, he was what was known as a creature called a Baku, weird name. A Baku is a rare creature that can create dreams. It does sound weird. Len can create, destroy, and manipulate people's dreams just as all bakus can. Some people are bakus and don't even know it, that's why they are so rare.   "What's wrong with being in here?" I asked him. "What are you crying about?" He asked me, he sounded annoyed. "I'm not crying! Leave me alone..." I whined. Len shrugged and walked away. I let out a sigh as I exited the garden; I entered the town passing many small stores until I arrived at the forest outside of the kingdom. People were not allowed to go inside the forest or go outside of the kingdom at all but since I worked for the king I always had an excuse. I sat under a tree, I always went here when I wanted to be alone. Sometimes I would even practice my powers here, my magic was not as rare as Len's. I had strength magic, I could make people stronger or weaker by giving them strength or taking their strength. It takes a lot of my energy to do, so I only do it when I really have to. The sun started to set; soon more guards would come out and protect the gates. The king would always send guards to work at night for extra protection. I saw a few guards starting to line up on the wall, I decided to go back into the kingdom and go to my house. As I walked into the kingdom I saw Minya coming down the road, Minya was the most annoying girl I knew. Minya had magic to, magic was pretty common in this era. Her magic was future magic, it sounds weird but it's a pretty powerful type of magic. She can slow time up with the cost of half her energy, making her very, very weak if she uses it. Another thing she can do is speed up time the only thing is that to do that she must sacrifice her life. I don't really know why that would be an important feature to her magic, but it's there. "Shouldn't you be working with the King right now?" Minya asked me sounding angry as always. I saw her servant Chiyo quickly running up to her, Chico also had magic. His powers were opening portals, he could open a portal to any world. He could also make portals that can teleport you anywhere on earth. "Miss...?" Chiyo asked shyly. "What? I'm talking!" She yelled at him. "I'm so very sorry but Len said that the King wanted you to help guard the gate tonight." Chiyo said hiding under his scarf, Chiyo was pretty shy. "Okay, go clean the house while I guard then. If the house is not clean when I get home you won't eat." Minya said shooing him away pointing at the house. Chiyo nodded and ran towards the house. "He is so annoying!" Minya whined walking towards the gate. I rolled my eyes as I entered my home. After I ate I went to bed.
