A/N- Okay guys, I'm back but this time with a real new story. I can't take full credit as we had to write this story in school. I wrote more than half of it though. Let's just say, 3 others helped write it. Except me and one other girl are writing a sequel so I am just posting this so you know what happens....

Prologue~
8 months pregnant. Carmen sighed. Why did he have to leave her? No, that wasn’t right. He didn’t leave her, she left him. Well, she didn’t even know who the father was. She had to make ends meet so she dated and slept with guys who could help her. If they wouldn’t she left. As simple as that. She had no idea how she was going to get by now. She was only eighteen.
As she drove home to her cozy little apartment she thought of who could be the father. Well, there was the blonde curly haired George. He was twenty and she left him right after Christmas. His brown eyes had followed her walking away. There was Mike but he was too late to be the father. Only a couple months ago. Joe, Matt, Fred, Noah nahh. They were all too early. She was with them almost a year ago. About 11 months for Joe the rest were before him. Well, there was HIM. Yes, it had to be him. Carmen sighed. She did not want to think about him. She decided to take a long hot shower and pull her thoughts away from the father.
Later that night as Carmen stepped on the scale she saw she gained 5 pounds this past week. Her doctor told her that she was having twins so this was normal. She glared at the menacing thing. She hated this. The cravings, the mood swings, the treatment; everything. When she found out she was pregnant she debated getting an abortion. Her parents would surely have given her the money but she hadn’t talked to them in so very long. She ran away when she was sixteen. Yes sixteen, shocking isn’t? Well technically two weeks before her 16th birthday but whatever. She had to get out of there.
Carmen stepped out of the bathroom and the cold air from the open window blasted through her. She took a rugged deep breath and walked towards her living room. As she sat down, there was a knock at the door. “Come in!” Carmen had no intention of getting off the couch.
Her best friend, Angela, walked in holding pickles and peanut butter. “I thought you might want some company.” Angela smiled roguishly. ‘Uh oh,’ Carmen thought. Angela sat down next to Carmen. “So,” she decided to drag the word out.
Carmen sighed, again. “What is it Ange? Stop beating around the bush and out with it.”
Angela smiled finally. “So, what are you having?” She was the only one happy about the pregnancy. Carmen’s one word reply froze Angela. “Twins, are you sure?” A nod from Carmen. “Well, in that case, are you happy about it?”
Carmen shrugged nonchalantly. “I’m giving them up for adoption. I’ve already decided and called an adoption agency.” Angela’s shocked and hurt expression made Carmen quick to explain. “Well, I mean, I don’t have enough money, nor room. Angie, I’m doing this for them.” Carmen’s hand fell on her stomach, “my daughters.”
Angela smiled a bit at Carmen. “So, are you going to finally tell me who the father is?”
She bit her lip and looked Angela up and down. Then she squirmed under her intense gaze. “Fine, his name is Colton. I always called him Cole though.” Carmen exhaled deep in thought. “He was my first love. You know I don’t normally love the guys I date but Cole was different. He understood me. I met him when I worked at that bar, I was a singer remember?” Angela nodded but realized Carmen probably couldn’t tell she was there. “He was 20 and I 17 but I fell deep and I fell hard. His blue eyes were what haunted me. I knew though, the moment he kissed me that I was deeply, madly in love with him.” Carmen shook her head in thought. “I used to always say, without a doubt, that the moment I knew I was in love, was the moment all the songs made sense. With, Colton, the songs made sense. Every time I saw him, my heart sped up, I got nervous, and I couldn’t think. I loved everything about it. He really was my own personal brand of heroin. Every touch, every kiss, every thought made me faller deeper in love with him but then, everything changed.” Carmen’s eyes glazed over and her face took on a hard edge. “The moment he left me in that alley to die.”
Angela had thought that Carmen got mugged and no one had been around. “What happened, Car?”
Carmen shut her eyes toughly then opened them. Sullenness overwhelmed her senses and she was back in that alley. ”Me and Cole were taking a walk and decided to take a short cut through the alleyway. I was telling him about my parents and how I had to grow up way to soon. Well, you know what happens then, but when I was lying on the ground in my blood, Cole was awake and alert. I saw him look from me, to the guys, then back to me. He made the wrong choice that day and ran off to go find them instead of stay with me. I found out I was pregnant a few months later.”
Angela was quiet for a little bit. “So, you really loved him?” They both smiled a little bit.
Carmen was about to reply when a feeling of utter pain came over her. She looked to Angela with big wondering eyes. “It’s time.”
Later, after a painful delivery, two beautiful babies were placed in her arms. “Hi there. I’m your mommy but I can’t keep you. I’m so sorry.” She placed a kiss on each of their foreheads. Her darling angels blinked up at her.
A moment later a girl from the adoption agency walked in. “Okay, if you’re sure you would like to give them up, sign here.” Carmen knew the agent didn’t care about her but she wanted her babies to have a good home. After the babies were taken from her she signed the papers.
“Just keep them together. They need someone to rely on as they grow up.” Carmen’s vibrant green eyes bore into the agent’s. Suddenly Cole’s sky blue eyes popped into her mind. She shook her head to rid her of the image. The woman smiled and walked out. Carmen sighed and leaned back in the bed, feeling as though she did the right thing. Little did she know the moment the girls were away from the hospital they’d be split up.
