TRANCE

The trees grow taller, taller,

The mountains higher, higher.

The flowers smaller, smaller,

The lake grows wider, wider.

I draw my last breath.

My vision blurs,

My heart beat slurs.

And his hands reach deeper, deeper.

He pulls me out from within.

With that the trees are normal,

The mountains, subtle.

The flowers, formal,

And the lake, merely a puddle.

He hugs me,

His hands squeeze me,

And I know his presence will never leave me.
