Chapter Five
Jessie's P.O.V
"I totally kicked your ass!" I smirk tossing the controller aside as I flop down on the couch.
"Yeah whatever,"Luke replys flopping down beside me. After a couple minuets of just lying there I get up.
"We should probably head over to Rebecca's house now."
"True let's go."
We go down stairs and head out the door locking it behind us. Luke was laughing at some stupid joke I told but abruptly stopped.
"I thought they were supposed to be here."
"They are."
In front of us is Rebecca's house with no lights on. She always leaves at least one light on if she's home.
"At least I think they are."
I walk up to the front door and raise my hand to knock but the door is already opened. Strange. Pushing it further I stepped in, Luke right behind me. "Rebecca? Alexis?" I call but no one answers.
"I'm getting the feeling that something bad happened here," Luke stated nervously.
"Me too, lets take a look around. You cover the inside and i'll go outside," I tell Luke while turning on the flashlight on my phone.
"Yeah sounds like a plan."
He does the same and with our phones ready, we split up and begin searching. I start with the front yard but everything looks in order so I make my way to back. I slowly push open the gate and all looks well at first glance. However, as I walk deeper into the backyard I discover something that makes my heart drop. Next to the shed lies a wooden plank, one end covered with a few specks of blood.
"Luke!" I shout as I begin to process what i'm seeing. "LUKE!" I scream this time. What exactly happened here? Is the blood Rebecca's or Alexis's? All these questions and more swim around in my head at the speed of light as Luke runs through the back door like a mad man.
"What is it?!?" he asks while gasping for breath.
I merely point to the plank and his eyes widen in alarm.
"Is that blood?"
"Yeah."
He looks at me and I can tell he's starting to freak out, and so am I.
"I think it's time to call the cops but first I found something inside you should see."
Luke begins to make his way back to the living room and I follow, still thinking about the plank. Once we get there I see a piece of paper on the table that was not previously there. Luke picks it up and hands it to me. At first glance I see it's comprised of letters cut out of a magazine.
"Can't wait to meet you and that friend of yours. See you both soon. -K" I read aloud.
We look at each other for a minuet and then I drop the lettter.
"It's definetly about time we call the police."
"Yeah."
I take out my phone and dial the number.
"9-1-1 what's your emergency?" asks a slightly irritated woman.
"I'd like to report a possible kidnapping. My girlfriend and her friend are missing."
"How long has it been since you've last seen them?"
"Umm, like maybe three or four hours?"
She sighed her irritation more noticeable.
"Sir, a person isn't considered missing until after at least twenty four hours," she deadpanned.
"But-"
"Sorry sir, goodnight."
She hung up and I cursed throwing my phone at the wall.
"What did they say?" Luke questioned.
"That their not considered missing until at least twenty four hours," I respond through gritted teeth.
"Well, what are we supposed to do now?" He asked.
I take a seat on the couch and look up at Luke. "We wait."

Rebecca's POV
We left the bedroom and Alexis immediately began to try to get answers out of Jen. Where as I was still trying to process this all. In the middle of my thinking, the door at the top of the stairs was being unbolted and I froze. A look of panic washed over Jen but quickly dissolved once foot steps began descending.
"Good morning ladies."
I think my jaw literally hit the floor. Standing before me was a guy who looked to be in his mid twenties. He had longish brown hair and deep blue eyes that seemed to stare right through your soul. He could use a shave too, but it kinda added to the ominous aura he had. Catching me staring he smirked.
"Close your mouth, you might catch flies."
Immediately I shut my mouth, heat rising in my face. Avoiding eye contact, I stared at a hole in the wall behind him.
"Just wanted to come and say hello to the new girls. Jen, i'm sure you've caught them up with how things work around here?"
"Almost sir," she replied.
His smile slightly faltered.
"Well then, i'll be back for dinner so I hope you have them up to date by then," he said in a 'don't defy me' tone.
"Of course sir."
"Right, well until then."
Turning towards the stairs, he winked at me before going up. I couldn't help the shiver that racked my body.
"That's the guy who kidnapped us?" I asked Jen in shock.
"Yeah that's him," she replied with a sigh, running a hand through her hair.
Alexis was staring at the stair case deep in thought.
"Hmm, he's kinda hot." She mummered, still thinking.
"What!" I turn so quickly I almost fall over with nausea. Is she crazy?!?
Her face heats up and she looks at me with a sheepish smile.
"It was just a thought."
"Here's another, you have a boyfriend. Named Luke. Any of this ringing a bell?"
She just rolls her eyes and collapses on the couch with a sigh.
