I stomped my foot on the floor impatiently. If my watch does not lie, It's been exactly ten minutes since they are talking (though it feels as if whole twenty-four hours are finished).
My uncle was dead busy, and when Alistair said him only two sentences ("We need to talk. About Amortentia."), my uncle never said a word to me and took Alistair in his office.
As hard as I could try, I couln't hear what they were saying inside his office. Finally I gave up and waited.
It took them A LOT of time whispering. Five minutes...Ten minutes...Fifteen minutes (the faint whispering have grown a bit louder, but not loud enough for me to hear)...twenty minutes...Finally, the door creaked open.
"He wants to talk to you," was all Alistair said before going in himself.
I inhaled deeply before going in. Uncle was sitting on his chair, his face grim. I don't know if it's my imagination or it's really real, but he suddenly looked old. There were wrinkles on his face and dark circles were circling his eyes.
Alistair, on the other hand, was expressionless. His eyes held excitment, but his face was grim - as if he haven't got something he wanted a lot.
I made my way towards the second guest's chair (Alistair was on the first one) and placed myself on it.
"What's going on?" I heard myself say.
Uncle shook his head. "Not know how am going to explain it to you," He muttered.
"Explain what?" I asked.
"Explain who you are in real, Amortentia." Alisair said.
I frowned. "Excuse me?"
Alistair bit his lower lip, and I got a feeling that he was being dramatic on purpose, so I turned to Uncle and asked him my question.
"Uncle, will you please tell me?" I pleaded.
"Of course I'm going to. I have to. I must." He said grimly.
I exhaled sharply. "Will you two please stop being dramatic and break this suspense for me? Or are you just going to mutter random things like that all day?"
After I said this, I felt that I had been rude so I muttered a small 'sorry'.
"Well," Uncle raised an eye-brow at Alistair.
He cleared his throat. "So...you're a Bender, 'Mortentia."
I blinked. "What?"
"I just confirmed it from your Uncle, too. You're a fire-bender - one who can bend or control fire."
As soon as he said that, my mind started to spin so hard, I thought I'm going to fall down.
"And," He continued. "I am an earth-bender. I can control earth, can create small stuff using it."
"There are two more types of benders," Uncle said. "Water-benders and air-benders. Your parents were fire-benders, too. And I was an air-bender, but because of lack of knowledge, I can't do much of it."
"And your beloved uncle never told you about it," Alistair said.
"For your own good, Amortentia." Uncle said, glaring at Alistair. "I wanted to hide you from those who killed your parents. And this was the only way. When you first produced fire, at the age of nine, I told you it's just an incident. And I had a reason behind lying to you, Am."
I stared at them. Have they gone insane?
"It's true," Alistair said at last.
"A-And why should i..believe you?" I asked.
