First of all, I don't know how well that this "book" will go. Thank you to my two friends Casey and Mia for giving me this idea. Literally. They handed this idea to me on a piece of paper. But anyway, you will probably realize as you read that there is a reason that I don't like to write about the past. There is so much research required. Ugh. But I'm gonna give it a try, cause I don't want to let this go to wast. :)

"Omph!" I grunted as I felt the sleek car slam into me. It wasn't going very fast, but it felt like a brick wall. I went skidding across the pavement and was almost run over. The car screeched to a halt as the door of the black 1967 Chevy Impala flew open.

I closed my hand around nothing and immediately, I started freaking out.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it!" I muttered under my breath as I fumbled on the ragged ground for my hand held time travel device. Then I spotted it. It had clattered to the ground about five feet away in the other lane. I hauled myself off of the ground and tried to scramble towards it, tripping in the process.

At that moment, an Impala passed by and promptly ran over the Device. I froze in shock as I saw the pieces of the machine splinter under the wheel and sparks fly. I put my hand down on the pavement as I lowered my head. I knew that I should've put that goddamn safety strap on the Device.

I lowered my head, but it snapped back up the second I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around and saw a girl there. She had short red hair and faded blue eyes. She had a worried expression on her face as she looked into my eyes.

"Are you okay? I'm so sorry!" She said as she looked me over for any injuries. I sighed as I let the defeat wash over me. There was no way I could get back. I smacked myself in the head and rose to my feet.

"I'm just dandy." I replied, with a fake smile on my face.

She raised an eyebrow at my fake smile and put her hands on her hips. "How did you even get there?" She questioned. "It's like you just appeared out of thin air right in front of my car." She said as she eyed me suspiciously.

I sighed. "It's a long story."

"Well I've got time." She said impatiently. I looked behind her car at the three vehicles behind her and smirked.

"No you don't" I drawled as one of the cars beeped right on cue. She huffed, clearly frustrated that she wasn't getting an answer.

"Do you have somewhere you have to be?" She asked. I looked around. I actually didn't since my time travel device had been smashed to a bajillion pieces and I was now stuck out of my time.

"No." I answered, curious to see where this was going.

"Okay then." She replied with a grin on her face. "Let's go." She grabbed my arm and started to drag me towards her car. She opened the back door, shoved me inside, and slammed it shut. I opened my mouth to protest, but before I could, the girl had shut her own door and stepped her foot on the gas, sending the wheels screeching as we sped down the road.
