A blizzard of Destinies

Part 1

                          Part 1

Drip's paws barely touched the ground as she raced along the base of the Mountain of Tumbling Rocks. She swerved in between boulders and skidded through short grass and tree saplings growing in crevices. Drip was lower mountain leopard, known for their strong legs and ability to run long distances. At the moment, she was enjoying a morning run before she and her sister, Mist, began to hunt, for they needed to feed their fellow mountaintops. As drip began to sprint back to the caves, a bright, bluish light blinded her. She skidded to a stop, her snow-white paws sliding on the dew-covered grass. As she blinked, struggling to see, her sensitive ears picked up a soft murmur. Straining to hear what sounded like many voices brought together to form one, she realized the voices were getting louder.

  "Beware the predators that threaten you all, the four snowflakes will form as one to defeat the invisible enemy."  

Stone, an upper mountain leopard, leaped from boulder to boulder, enjoying the strong mountain winds whipping through his long fur. Finally, he halted at the peak of the mountain that was home to both upper and lower mountain leopards. Stone gazed out at neighboring mountains and valleys with undisguised awe. He had climbed up here countless times, yet every time, he was amazed at the view and the vast and seemingly endless extent of land stretching before him. A hushed voice, no voices, interrupted his thoughts. At first, Stone couldn't make out what they were saying. He glanced around and scented the air, but picked up nothing but the scent of snow, rock, and wind. He concentrated and noticed the voices were getting louder. 

"Beware the predators that threaten you all, the four snowflakes will form as one to defeat the invisible enemy."
