K'lli N'va watched from her room, peering through the hard, clear material at the planet she had called home.

It glowed a soft violet as it collapsed in on itself, the gravitational abnormality transforming it from a beautiful paradise to a hell-marked wasteland.

Along with J'kal N'va and K'ri M'ns'n, K'lli was on a ship headed to the nearest Ekoian-hospitable planet: Earth. In a few minutes, she would have to enter cryosleep until they reached Earth, effectively freezing her in time, but for now, she could watch the last few moments of her planet.

Tears sprang to her eyes as she remembered her mother and father, now dead on Ekoi's surface. They weren't a royal family, but they were a noble family, and she was proud of them. On Earth, her noble status would likely be discarded.

The primary languages of Earth would be downloaded into their minds during cryosleep, enabling them to speak to most Earthlings without trouble. Their names would also be translated into human names so that they could blend in to the general populace.

As the last civilizations of Ekoi crumbled, K'lli turned from the window, floating across the zero-gravity environment to her cryosleep pod. She pressed her hand to the scanner, opening the chamber. She moved inside, settling into a comfortable position.

"Goodbye, Ekoi," she whispered softly as the glass swept over her face and the cold crept into her bones.

"Goodbye, K'lli," Ekoi whispered back.

---

K'lli awoke slowly, not as though from a nightmare, but more as though from a pleasant dream that she did not want to let go of.

The first thing she noticed was the cold. It chilled her to her core, an icy wave that trapped her in her still position.

She wrenched her arm forward, shattering the cryosleep haze, an after effect of the cryosleep. The door of her pod hissed open, and she tumbled out.

The new environment wasn't quite zero-gravity, but it was nowhere near the gravity of Ekoi. She could probably jump many times higher here than she did on Ekoi, so she was careful and light in her footsteps.

As she entered the main room, she saw J'kal waiting for her.

"Brother," she greeted him, the English word tasting odd on her lips.

"Sister," he replied, smiling at her. Carefully and cautiously, the two walked towards each other, hugging.

"It is good to see you again, J'kal," K'lli said.

"Jackal," he corrected. K'lli shook her head.

"Right. Human names. You're... Jackal, I'm Kelly?"

"Indeed," Jackal said.

"J'kal, K'lli, hello," K'ri said.

"It's Jackal and Kelly now, Kiri," Kelly reminded the younger girl. Kiri nodded.

"Sorry, you know what I meant. Say, should we find it civilization?" Kiri asked. The other two nodded.

As they proceeded to the door, Kelly took a deep breath.

"Do you smell that?" she asked. Kiri and Jackal both sniffed.

"Yeah! Oxygen!" Kiri exclaimed enthusiastically.

"Isn't oxygen exceedingly beneficial to our systems?" Jackal asked. Kelly nodded.

"It is. Also, Earth has more ultraviolet radiation than Ekoi, which will increase our solar energy intake. In fact, if my studies on Ekoian cells are anything to go by, we might even be able to repurpose that energy as either heat of kinetic energy, depending on how much we can absorb," Kelly said.

The three of them had been selected because of their powerful cultural and scientific backgrounds. Kiri was Ekoian royalty, while Kelly was the best and brightest bioengineer of their time, and Jackal was a mathematical genius. Hopefully, those backgrounds would help them in the fore coming journey.

"Connor, we've got an alien alert in Arizona," Nightwing said.

"Alien alert?" Connor asked.

"Yeah. Batgirl built a program to scan for alien energy signatures and activity, along with sightings of unusual people, and we got a hit in Arizona. We're sending you, Beast Boy, Miss Martian, and Kid Flash to meet with them, see what's going on," Noghtwing explained. Connor nodded.

"Got it."

---

"Hey, Kori, B-girl's alien alert program picked up something in Arizona," Arsenal said. Starfire floated over to the screen, looking at the blinking dot.

"But will the Young Justice Team not head there too?" Starfire asked.

"So what? We can take 'em. Right, Hood?" he called.

"Sure. They probably won't even send the big guns, just because there's a threat of another alien invasion, you know?" a muffled voice yelled back sarcastically.

"Ah, we'll hide. You don't have to worry, Hoodie," Arsenal said.

"Shall we head that way, then?" Starfire asked.

"Y'know what? Just don't get caught, and you'll be fine," Hood said.

"Sweet! Kori, take us away," Arsenal said.
