Patchfur POV
I watch RoaringFeather knead her nest of moss and grass. If only I could tell her I.....love her, I thought sadly. She walks over to me. " You ready?" She asks,signalling to the entrance. "For what?" I ask. She bumps me and pushes me out the entrance by my flank.
As she pushes me out, TideStar comes and signals for me on the rock. I stumble up the rock and sit beside TideStar." All EarthClan cats!!! Come!" He yells. Everyone piles around the rock. "Through StarClan... I make Patchfur........ Deputy!!!!" Everyone cries joy and shouts my name. He places his head on my shoulder.
TideStar smiles." Congratulations!" I gleam with pride. I jump off the rock and land in front of RoaringFeather. She's taken aback as I say," I love you!" She flattens her ears against her head and looks down." I'm sorry,Patchfur. I don't feel the same way," she says hesitantly,walking away slowly.
RoaringFeather pov ~
I walk away to Patchfur's fallen face. That's how he's felt about me this whole time?, I thought sadly. I turn and run. I run out of EarthClan. I run out of Patchfur's gaze. I run to Shard Cave. I break off a shard of shiny glass. I take the shard and stick it painfully into my eye socket. I yell. It bleeds and then stops. I take it out and notice the gold looking blood stuck to it. My anger turns to Flames, turning my pelt and eye red. I scratch the gold blood. I let out a angered cry. I paw my damaged eye socket with sheathed claws.
