In the year 2017, a new era was set in place. Very few people knew of this era. Governments tried to keep it under control, keep it hidden and tucked away from public eye. But something they couldn't have coverd up was the comet.
It crashed on March 14, and since January of that year scientists had seen it coming. Everyone on the coast of California and Japan had to evacuate days before the crash, in fear of the tsunami's following. Once that had happened, life seemed to go on as usual.
Except... a few things.
Experts from all over the world recovered the asteroid and studied it, fascinated. But what they couldn't have known was the levels of energy it sent off - not a type of energy often recognized on Earth. It was spiritual, disrupting normality. Reality.
This disrupt in energy caused what the government calls Adepts. A handful of children born after the year of the crash were born with abilities that could be described as magical, extraterrestrial, weird. Some could withstand fire. Some could control it. Even more rare were full mutations - adepts with more than just one ability, whose entire body is born out of wack.
The year is 2037. It has been 20 years since the crash, and to some people, it is almost just a nonexistant memory. To others, it is their life.
