My names (Y/N). I'm 18 and I live by myself. I'm at school (university) and I have about two more years in that hell hole. Anyways, I'm focusing on law school as well so that's that. But I'm here to cut straight to the chase. I have a really good friend I met in my first year of Law School. His names Ryan. I call him my best friend because he's always got my back and will make sure I'm going home happy. I was walking my way to my closet to put on my clothes and then my roommate woke up. "Finally you woke up, sleepy head." I said to my roommate, Madi. "Ahhh..wtf, is it Friday?" She asked. "No it's Wednesday you dummy." I answered. She groaned and fell off her bed. I laughed and got her up cause she was stuck in her blanket. Her eyes were barely even half way open. I finished putting on my clothes and walked out to get Madi and me some coffee. She needed it. While I was walking down to the kitchen I heard a knock on the door. "I'LL GET IT!" Madi screamed. "No you're naked ill just get it." I laughed. "Oh right! She'll get it!" She said as her voice faded away from walking back to her room. I shook my head and smiled, opening the door. My face went from a smile to a blush. "Ryan, hey!" I said. "IT'S RYAN? HEY BOI!" Madi screamed. "Hey guys. You ready? You have about 10 minutes until we have to get to class." He smiled. "Yeah I'm just getting us some coffee." I said. "Oh ok." His smile widened. "Want some? There's definitely room for another one." I said. "Sure." "Awesome ok." I walked over and prepared each of us some coffee. After about 5 minutes Madi walked over, makeup on, hair straight and skinny jeans with a hoodie. "Ready." She smiled. Ryan's blush was so noticeable that someone could even notice it from a far. Madi took the coffee and politely thanked me. I nodded and we all walked out. Once we got there I saw Tate and walked over to him considering Madi and Ryan are probably talking into a love portal and totally forgetting me. So what could go wrong, I mean..he's not with any of his popular friends and it's only him looking around and we are best friends so trying won't hurt. "Hey Tate." He saw me and gave a cute smile. "Hey, Sugar. You look fine this morning." He winked just to tease me and I rolled my eyes. "What's up?" He asked. "Well Madi and Ryan are having a love conversation so I just decided to leave them cause I ain't gonna be no third wheel." He laughed and put his arms around my waist and pulled me to his chest. "I missed talking to you, (Y/N)..Hang out with me instead of Ryan. You already know he doesn't want you, he wants Madi. I'll give you the world..you know I will." He said in a calm voice. "It's not like I like him or anything." I said trying to act calm putting my arms around his neck to show him my confidence. I knew he was smiling ending the hug after a few moments later. "(Y/N), Ryan's gonna hurt you easily. I'm not trying to force you but I really need you to get away from him. Can't you see? He's using you to be a third wheel and not make him look lonely." He said, kissing my head. I blushed and started to hide my tears. Ryan wouldn't do that to me..would he? No. I trust Ryan. But Tate is my best friend. So plan B, put Ryan into a little test. TEST 1: stop hanging out with him and see if he'll notice and ask you what's wrong. "Great plan." I said in my head. Tate smiled, seeing me in thought. All the sudden I hear, "Tate! Who the hell is your new girlfriend?!" I already knew who it was..Jack. "Bro, stfu. Is just (Y/N)." Tate said. Jack saw that Tate actually cared about me so Jack did too cause Jack already knew if he didn't respect Tate's friends his ass is gonna get beat. Jack gave me a warm smile I've never seen from him before and kissed my hand. "Good morning, (Y/N)." I blushed and smiled. "It's fine. Thank you." I said. He smiled and nodded." Tate was a little mad about this kiss on the hand but that was really it. Tate took my hand we walked off. "You doin' that 'good-good' tonight though, right?" Jack yelled out. FACT: 'GOOD-GOOD'= Blunts Tate yelled back, not caring about looking back or stopping, "Maybe later Jacky." I could hear Jack groan. I smiled from the groan, it's pretty easy to know when to laugh and when to not laugh for me. Ryan walked up. "(Y/N), Madi needs you, we have to go." I looked back and saw that it was Ryan. "Oh hey! Sorry you and Madi were hanging out I thought it would be most necessary to just leave you two to do your own thing." I giggled. I could see Tate wasn't really happy from who we bumped into. Ryan felt the same. "Ryan.." "Tate.." they both looked at each other like cats and dogs in a small room. "Hurry (Y/N) we have to go." Ryan said, holding his hand out. "You really wanna go with that?" Tate said in an un pleasant voice. 1. WHO DO YOU CHOOSE??: RYAN & MADI? OR 2. TATE AND THE POPULAR PEOPLE? Choose wisely... -1. You looked at Tate then at Ryan. "Ryan I'm sorry but I really think that you and Madi would want to hang out. I'm just always behind you two, trying to keep up. I'm sorry but I didn't get to hang out with Tate in a really long time. Is it ok if I just stick with him and catch up?" I said. Ryan had a betrayed look. I felt shivers roll down my spine. I teared..I betrayed my friend like that..not just my friend..my best friend. He shrugged it off like nothing just happened. "Ok, see ya later." He waved the most dead wave on earth and walked off. I felt so bad..but I knew Ryan hated it when people felt bad for him so I tried shaking it off. Tate locked hands with me. "Didn't expect that to happen..thanks." He said, kissing my head." I smiled. We walked to the popular place, (aka: the room that no one goes in cause they're afraid of the popular kids and that they're going to kick them out.) Tate opened the door for me and we walked over there. "Hey guys." They all jumped when they heard him and got up. "Aye what's good ma- who's this chick?" A boy I've seen a hundred times asked like he's never stared at me from the other side of the class before. "She's my best friend." He smiled. They all smiled at me. The girls smiled and got up, taking me to the bathroom. "Girl taaalk." They all calmly said. The main girl stood there with about 3 more girls. "Do you like him? Does he like you? Are you going to give him your virginity? What are you gonna do? Did you know he's the foot ball team captain? You're going for a really harsh one.." they all questioned. He's only my Best Friend and that's it. I don't really care what sport he plays. All I care about is that he will always be my Best Friend and that's it." I smiled. They all looked at eachother and laughed. The head girl said, "The was the cutest thing I've ever heard from a girl that ever took a step in this room. Look here we don't care about who we're gonna be in the future. Were young and that's the way it's going to be. You have to chill with the personality and the best friend bullshit. Get out your feelings girl! Start relaxing your muscles and just go for him! He obviously likes you and this is might be your only chance so why not give him a chance? But before we discuss anything we have to give you a small makeover..this is not going to work out. Oh and my the way, I'm Vicki, the girl over there is Caroline, girl on the left is Zamora, girl over here with me is Lora. They all waved. I waved back and smiled. Vicki snapped and the lights turned off and I could hear a little bit of shuffling but all the sudden the lights turned on and it was like it was a makeup studio. My eyes widened with surprise. - 2. You looked down then looked at Tate. "Please don't get mad at me but I really do think Madi needs me. Is it ok with you if I go see what's wrong with her? She's my roommate and my Best Friend and she needs me." I have him puppy eyes and he softly smiles. "Of course baby girl. Ill see you later." He kissed my cheek then smirked at Ryan. "Take care of her.." he walked off, his hands shoved in his pockets. Ryan smiled and hugged me. "I knew you wouldn't leave me.." I smiled and hugged him back. He walked me to the girls bathroom. "I think she's on her 'red dot.'.." I laughed and ran in. FACT: 'red dot.' = PERIOD. "HELP ME." She cried. We were friend for so long that she would leave the door unlocked but not open (duh.), knowing that I would walk in to help her if she needed it. "I have a tampon, you're lucky." She giggled and I could hear her sniffling. I walked in gave it to her then closed the door. She did what she had to, I wiped her tears and gave her some makeup to put on. But she first washed her face then applied the makeup. She hugged me. "I knew you always got my back girl." She smiled and I smiled back. "Yeah. Anytime." When we walked out Ryan rushed over to her and hugged her small body close to him. "Is everything ok now?" He asked. She laughed and nodded." He sighed of relief and kissed her head. "Good." We all walked to our class and then when the class ended the 4 popular girls I was NEVER introduced to stopped me from walking. "We have to talk. It's about Tate." They smiled but in their eyes it's look serious. I nodded. They walked me to the girls bathroom. "You're Tate's like best best best beeeeeeest best best best best friend, correct?" The head of the girls questioned. I nodded and she nodded back for a sign of her understanding. "Well you know he's having a HUGE crush on you right?" They asked. I nodded. "You have to give him a chance. He's worth it I swear, right girls?" She asked, looking back at the girls behind her. They all nodded and started chattering with complements about him she hushed them and they went back to doing whatever they were doing. "See? So..now that you understand that he likes you..do you like him a little at least?" The head cheerleader questioned AGAIN. I shrugged. "I guess yeah." I smiled. They're eyes widened in victory and they all screamed and cheered as if they just won in their cheer competition. They stopped after a few seconds and acted totally normal again. "Ok, well...umm..this is not going to work out.." the head pointed at my outfit and my face. I looked down at myself and noticed what they were talking about. I looked like I just woke up and walked out of my dorm. And that was exactly what happened so I guess they were here go give me a self makeover. And I already knew that's exactly what they were her for. "Oh and bt dubs, I'm Viki, the girl over there is Caroline, girl on the left is Zamora, girl over here with me is Lora." They all waved and I waved back. Vicki snapped her fingers and the lights turned off. When they turned them back on the whole bathroom changed into a makeup studio!!! This is going to be so cool.
