CHAPTER TEN

I never got called out of class that day for the stunt with Charlotte. Okay, I do overreact a lot and perhaps what I did was unnecessary, but I hate her with a burning passion.

Me and Charlotte have always disliked each other. There's no particular reason for it, we just despise each other.

This one time last year, we were doing hockey in physical education and we're both really competitive so we used to get into cat fights and argue a lot with each other. I broke her leg once and she got me back by getting me suspended, since she knows how strict my parents are.

So, instinctively, I thought she'd rat me out like the little vermin she is to the teachers, and I'd get pulled out. But I never did, which meant she had something much greater up her sleeves, right?

I'm on the bus home when I see Brad, and he takes a seat in front of me, and I sit next to him to ask what happened when I left.

"Hey," I smile and he looks at me with a small smile, sitting up properly from his pervious slouched position.

"What do you want?" He asks.

"You looked lonely," I bluff and he snorts, earning himself a funny look off of me.

"I know what you're like, you want something," He speaks.

"What do you mean by that?" I say, offended but slightly proud that I've got myself a reputation.

"You really dislike me, so you're only talking to me to get something from me," He smirks.

"Sound familiar?" I retort and he rolls his eyes, turning red slightly. "Look, I just wanted to know what happened at lunch after I'd left."

"Oh, you mean with Charlotte?" He laughed at the memory and I just nod. "Well, the teacher came back in and was oddly disturbed by the whole scene. Don't worry, I covered you and said it was me who did it."

"Why did you do that?" I feel my cheeks going slightly red. He didn't have to and it was probably the nicest thing he's done for me, or anyone perhaps, ever.

"I got you in deep shit with Mr. Cole last week, consider it an apology," He shrugs and I nod.

"Well, uh, thank you!" I smile at him and he just nods. "If you need anything, just let me know. I feel bad that you got in trouble for what I did."

"We're even, Mol, no need for you to repay me," He says and then smirks. "Unless. . ."

"Nope! I'm leaving," I say, getting up for my seat as the bus pulls up to my stop conveniently. I know he was about to ask to hook up, and I'm thankful I had to clamber off.

As I climb off of the bus, my back pocket buzzed and I reached my phone to check who had messaged me.

07455 605122 better see you at the party on Friday

Mollie who is this?

⧫ ⧫ ⧫

I walked into school the next day and met Luisa and Ana in the cafeteria, "Why do you two look so annoyed?"

"Because there's a party on Friday but our parents wont let us go," Luisa answers in a huff as I slide into the chair.

"Oh, the one at one of the jock's houses?" I ask as I grab some of Louisa's grapes and place one into my mouth.

"Yeah!" Ana nodded and tapped into her phone.

"Were you guys even invited to that?" I laugh and Luisa sighs.

"No, but everyone knows a party isn't a party until someone crashes it."

"Well, that means I'm going to be going to a party by myself if you guys can't come," I shrug and Luisa and Ana give me strange looks. "I got an invite."

"Who off?" Luisa raises an eyebrow and I tap my nose, not wanting to admit it was Brad. I probably wouldn't end up going since he'd find someone else to go with.

At that moment, Brad and Tristan walked through the door, laughing at something on Brad's phone. Brad sits down at the table on the other side of the room to our table, and looks up to me. Coincidentally, my phone buzzed.

Brad that shirt makes you look hot

Mollie you perv

Brad are you coming to the party of Friday then ?

I sigh and set my phone back down after reading his text and look at him, shaking my head.

"Don't be a tease, who invited you," I get a nudge off of Luisa, who smirks.

"It doesn't matter. I probably won't be allowed to go anyway," I sigh and Luisa rolls her eyes. "There's parties most weeks anyway, I'll live if I miss just this one."

"Don't be sour, you have to go!" Ana comments and I notice a shadow over me. I look up to see Brad smiling as he stands behind my chair.

"Are you girls coming to the party on Friday?" He asks us all but I feel his gaze on mine. The other girls say no whilst I just sit there. "What about you, Mollie?"

"I'm not sure, maybe," I say in a small voice and Brad laughs lightly. "I don't want to leave the girls."

"I'm sure I can take care of you," He offers, his signature smirk plastered on his face and I glare at him.

"Perhaps," I say. "You'll just have to wait and see."
