"And, that's a wrap!" the Director shouts, causing me to lose my character's persona instantly as I looked around at the crew who all broke into instant chatter.
"That was the last scene of the movie everyone! Brilliant work!"
"Good job Victor."
"Thanks Ben, you did brilliantly my friend." I stared up at Benedict Cumberbatch as he smiled at me, before we both could speak we were engulfed by the crew and other actors and actresses who were all celebrating the fact we just finished twelve months of filming in six.
"Drinks all 'round!"
And, that's my Que. Slowly and unnoticed I slipped away from the crowd and went to the room where I left my stuff, packing it all away neatly I slung my messenger bag onto my shoulder before I looked around for the last time and slipped out of the door, trying to close it silently.
"Where are you going, Victor?"
Turning I saw the Director staring at me in confusion, "I don't drink-"
"That doesn't mean you can't celebrate with us."
"No thanks, I wouldn't like to burden and water down all of everyone's fun."
"You wouldn't do that, you've always been the life of the party-"
"Sir! Sir! They've gotten into your liquor cabinet!"
"What?!" while the Director was distracted I slipped away and climbed into my car before taking off for home.
Arriving there, I unpacked my things before I sat down at my desk, showered before changing into my pajama's and then stared at the paper that was pinned to the drawing table's surface.
Picking up paint brush I dipped the end in already made water colored paint and started to paint the details of Russel's outfit, trying to as much detail as I possible could.
'The Goth Defectives' is a comic book funded on my income only, I self publish it all online - but that's stopped for the past three months. Because at the moment, I was focused on making a graphic novel of 'The Goth Detectives'. I knew it was going to be hard work, but I wanted to do it.
So I am.
I hear a knock echo around my apartment and I paused my brush stroke before I slowly placed it down and hopped off of my stool and walked to my door and opened it, coming face to chest with a boy who looked a bit stunned, maybe it was the fact I was in my pajama's four in the after noon?
"Yes?"
"Hi, I um... locked myself out of my apartment, next door and I was wondering if I could wait in your apartment while the Land Lord finds another set of keys?"
I stared at him, inspecting his face and eyes before I stepped to the side and let him in.
He walked in and looked around the place instantly while I closed and locked the front door before I walked into my kitchen, "Would you like some tea?"
"That'd be lovely, thanks." he stared at me as I made him tea to his liking (I had asked him) and then put some marble cake and brownies on a plate before I placed it down in the middle of the table and sat beside him with my own cup of tea.
Staring at the plate he picked up a brownie and nibbled on it, "I'm Victor by the way."
"Zayn." he looked a bit confused to why my name was Victor.
"My real name is Victoria, my nick name is Victor."
"Why Victor?"
"My cousin use to call me that when we were younger, since I was a Tom Boy back then, and it's just stuck I guess." I shrugged, tapping the side of my tea with the pad of my finger as I stared at the boy, "Have we met before? I don't remember someone moving in the apartment next to me."
"No, we haven't. And I moved in four months ago... sorry for the loud noises and things, my friends and I get out of hand sometimes. I hope we didn't wake you." he looked really worried as he said that, I wonder why?
"It's fine, I haven't even noticed you before to give you a Welcome to the Apartment building gift. And anyway, I sleep like I'm dead, so you could be as loud as you want to be. I won't even stir." sipping my tea Zayn nibbles on the brownie again as he look's around the room.
"I like that, who's the artist?" looking over to where Zayn was pointing I saw one of my first original character I had come up with when I was nine.
"That would be me."
"Whoa, really?"
"Yes."
"You draw?"
"Yes."
"I do too." he gushed and pulled out his phone before he tapped on it for a bit before he shows me a picture of a drawing.
"Whoa, that's wicked." I took his phone from him and stared at the drawing in awe, "Wait, can I swipe to see if you have more?" I questioned.
"To the left."
I nod and swiped to the left and stared at the drawings, "You have brilliant talent my friend-" his phone rang in my hand and I quickly passed it to him.
"Hello?" he answers and I watched him for a second before I looked down, sipped my tea and played with the end of my white plait, "Okay, thank you, bye."
Looking up I see Zayn stand up, "I have to go now, the guys coming up with the extra keys."
"Bye." I looked down to my cup, not knowing what else to say. I never really talked to anyone but Russel and Noel, and we never said 'bye' because we knew we would see the each other again soon.
"Bye Victor, hopefully we can do this again some time."
"Yeah..." I mumbled as he left, closing the door behind him.
I stared at his full cup and sighed, I really need to talk to people more, I actually feel kind of alone - well, actually, it's a good thing I like being alone then. I guess it was just nice talking to someone who likes drawing as much as I did.
Shrugging it off I got up, dumping the two cups into the sink before I sat at my desk again and continued working on my graphic novel, instantly forgetting about all the events that happened that day as my pen touched the paper.
And that's when I guess it started.
