Crash, Fall Down. I'll Wrap My Arms Around You Now.

Caroline entered the Torchwood pass code and the door opened. She sighed and stepped through. She usually loved work, but she and Josh had been on a honeymoon for two weeks so anything else seemed kind of shit in comparison. Still it was probably for the best, she returned home to the Burrow to find it in a right state. The girls had been away, (Sacha had been filming something and Karen was away with The Doctor) so Rupert had been living there by himself. Obviously he hadn’t quite grasped the concept of using a wand. All he had to do was wave his hand to get the pans to start cleaning themselves, but of course that would’ve been too much effort. Tasha wasn’t much use either. She was meant to be staying at the Burrows to house sit but she didn’t turn up. Typical. Ash had probably whisked her off on holiday or something. If he had, Caroline hoped Dougie hadn’t found out about it, that guy was depressed enough. Though Josh said he had a new girlfriend, which is interesting. Seen as two minutes ago he was heartbroken.

She took the lift to the underground base and walked in, the team were there all hard at work. “Caroline!” Owen said noticing her “Your back!” The others noticed her and came over, the four of them stood together and suddenly Caroline felt a lot better about being back in Cardiff. “So how was it?”

“Great thanks” she replied and explained all about her honeymoon in the Caribbean. That was until Jack walked in. “Right Toshiko! I matched that man’s face with the police CCTV footage and it’s our killer. I want you to cross reference it with all the possible matches and get his address. Can you do that?” Toshiko jumped to attention “Easy” she said “Just need to hack into the police database” she ran back over to her computer and got to work. Jack swaggered up to Caroline, who was confused as to what was going on. It defiantly wasn’t a case she’d been working on before the wedding. “Good holiday?” He smiled. “Of course” Caroline replied “Now, fancy filling me in on what’s going on?” he sighed and pointed to the autopsy room where there was a dead female lying on the table, she had some interestingly shaped stab wounds. On the screen above her was a big diagram of a knife. Jack leant against the wall opposite the victim. “A young male, mid twenties, has been going around killing people with this knife.” Caroline was confused “But why’s that our responsibility? Is the knife-”

“Yeah, it’s alien. We’ve been working on this case for a few weeks, it would be easy to find him, he’s not exactly careful, he’s been caught on so much CCTV but someone kept wiping the records. Ah it doesn’t matter we got him now.”

Toshiko called from the other room “Jack I’ve got him! According to their database he’s called Charlie Keens and works for some storage company. He should be at home right now” Jack ran over and checked the computer then turned to the others and said “Caroline, Owen I want you to catch him. Ianto I need you on backup and Tosh you need to guide them through the ear pieces. We’ll bring him back to the cells, question him then get him sent to a government facility where he can be held without trial.” Caroline sighed “Not much of a welcome party is it?” Jack grinned “Well you know us” She just laughed back then picked up her ear piece and gun. She and Owen ran down the steps and out the door, “By the way! Love your tan!” Jack called after them.

“Why?!” Max whined. Josh rolled his eyes and folded his arms. “Because it’s my house and I’ll do what I want with it” He replied. Dan who had been ignoring them looked over the top of the paper and said “You two! Stop having a domestic, let it go Max.” Max looked annoyed; he strode across the room and snatched Dan’s paper “So you’re going to agree with him over me? Well thanks a bunch! It’s always nice to know you have your priorities in order.” Dan found it hard to keep a straight face and burst out laughing. “You are arguing over a sofa! Don’t take it seriously!” Because of the state of the house, Josh had decided to do a massive cleanup and rearrange so it was nice for when Caroline got home. However, inviting the boys to help him may have not been the best idea. Now Max was trying to convince them it was a good idea to change the whole layout of the downstairs. “All I was saying” Max continued “Was that if you moved the sofa to the other side you can see the TV.”
