The last thing I remember after all that was nothing but black and blurs for a while. When I finally woke up I was in a hospital. Panic started to set in as I stared down at my bandaged arms and body. Quickly enough a nurse rushed in seeing I was awake and filled me on on a couple things. The nurse was kinda tall, middle aged guy. Kinda looked like an older Tom Cruise.

"So it's been a month?"

"Yes."

"And there's a war going on..." I paused in should confusion,"right now?"

"Yes." The guy just blankly stare at me in complete sorrow, but I feel his pain. If all that he said was true who knows what's been going on?

"... And this whole time, I was in a comma." What luck? It sucks, but on the positive side I'm not dead.

"We're you not listening?"

"I was listening, just in shock."

"Then be a good listener and get out. We've got more patients an your awake now." I look over in surprise. He looked back and handed me a backpack and a bandage roll.

"What's this shit for?"

"You'll want to evacuate further north if you wanna keep out of the war zone."

"Noted. Thanks." I get dressed in a couple clothes that look like there seen better days in the lost and found. "What happened to my clothes?"

"They were burned. In fact, we didn't think you'd survive." He says with a blank face. Note to self. Am not imortal. "We've got something for you downstairs at the front desk past the canteen, just watch your step. The bombings have not been kind to the city."

"Thanks pal," I say on my way out. "I'll try and remember that." In the meantime I need to get ahold on the situation. What's going on? What's happened while I was out? Who are we at war with? When I got downstairs to the canteen I was in shock as to what I saw. The injured, sick, and those burned by the bombings laying in bed, in chairs, some even were in stretchers on the floor barely able to move. Nurses and what doctors that I saw were yelling for others to help them. Patients with bad wounds crying out for morphine. It was chaos.
I managed to find the front desk and grab some clothes and gear from who was there. Didn't pay my no mind but it's whatever I guess. I go into the bathroom to get my clothes on and check my bag and lemme tell ya it wasn't much. Not like it matters much cause soon as I got out three ground starts shaking as one of the doctors yell out to duck and cover.

"Bombs Falling! Everybody take cover!!"

I run and take cover under a nearby table and think to myself it's gonna be a long night..
