Our 6th president was John Quincy Adams. He accomplished many jobs and was nicked named as the “old man eloquent”. He also did many other important jobs. John Quincy Adams, the 6th president, held many jobs before becoming president, which achieved many goals and was remembered to be known as one of the best diplomat in American history.

            John Quincy Adams was born on July 11, 1767 in Braintree. His parents were John Adams and Abigail Smith Adams. Quincy had four siblings; they were Susanna Adams, Charles Adams, Thomas B. Adams, and Elizabeth Adams. John Quincy Adams religious was Unitarian. Adams attended school at Harvard University and studied about laws.

            John Quincy Adams then married to Louisa Catherine and had three children, George, Louisa, and Charles. They lived in Netherland and Russia. He held many jobs before becoming president, such as lawyer, diplomat, professor, us senator, and secretary of state. Adams had never served in the military.

            John Quincy Adams’s political party was Federalist; Democratic – Republican. Quincy played an important role in negotiating many international treaties, most notably the Treaty of Ghent, that ended the war of 1812.

            John Quincy Adams was the 6th president. His vice president was John C. Calhoun. Quincy served for 4 years (1825-1829). What was going on in the world was the American Revolution. Adams was remembered for many achievements. For example the Erie Canal was completed.

            John Quincy Adams died in the House of Representatives at Washington D.C. Quincy died at the age of 80 at February 23, 1848. Adams was burial in the first Unitarian church, Quincy mass. Historians agree he was one of the greatest diplomats in American history.
