"So ladies and gentlemen!! Put your hands together for the most awaited show of the night by none other than the most beautiful and most talented... Fire Girl!!" the host announced putting all his might on screaming my name out loud. Leading a huge sigh, I clasped the rope tightly and steadied myself for the performance. Taking a huge breath I muttered a small all the best to myself and jumped swiftly, still clutching the rope with an iron grip. The crowd roared with applause as soon as I waved, holding the rope with another hand and entangling my legs with the rope. Maintaining a great balance, I left the rope and dangled with only my legs holding it tight. Some gasps were so loud that it was audible even after being in such a great height.

The real show began when I completely left the rope and jumped to the tall iron pole erected just in the middle of the stage. It was a thin, almost thirty feet tall pole with fire lit at its tip giving it a look of gigantic matchstick. I grasped the pillar just below the tip and what I did next was totally inconceivable for those who were new. Taking a huge breath, I took a moment to steady myself and looked up to the raging flames. Slowly, I climbed up to the tip and then initiated my left hand to the flames. The audience burst into a thunder of claps as I withdrew my hand, burning with high rising flames, of the same intensity as that of the tip. I climbed up to the tip and placed my right feet on it, and stood up, balancing myself on the burning tip with one feet.

Fire is something that has always been a source of relaxation for me. My ability of tackling fire has defied all the laws of nature, they say. But to tell you the truth, I have never felt any difference between me and others. In fact, whenever I touch or come in contact with fire, I don't feel uneasy, like people do. In fact it soothes me, relaxes me. Why this happens to me, well I'd pay to know that. Right now, it has become a good source of income for me. I finished my high school just a year back and I don't have plans to attend college anytime soon. But yeah, I'd love to go to college.

The show ended with heavy round of applause and I was waiting outside the event manager's cabin to get my payment. Other performers were chatting and tittering about different stuffs. I loitered in front of the huge plasma TV, watching NBA, sometimes hollering with each goal of Miami Heat. I've always been an antisocial pessimist. Not that I want to, but it seemed people didn't like my company much. Because someway or the other, I always ended up with a silly cat fight.

'Evangeline Primrose' called the so called PA of the event manager . I hurriedly made my way to the cabin. I had a negotiation of seventy bucks, but sometimes, the amount decreases, depending upon the audience. But I bet that today there were ample of audience and I'd get the expected payment. Actually I should be getting more.

Event manager was not present. Instead, I found his beloved PA counting money to give. I don't want to sound rude but she was the last person I'd ever love to get along with. With her skimpy outfit and her makeup caked face, she raised her brow as soon as she saw me and glared. 'Primrose...' she started.
'Your performance was horrible today - ' I opened my mouth in protest when she snapped rudely 'Let me finish!'
I narrowed my eyes as she continued 'So... As I was saying... Your performance was horrible because of which there were comparatively less audience than the last show resulting in the fall of sale of tickets.. And hence, your payment is going to be 30% less than the fixed amount. That is you are going to get Fifty dollars. Period. ' she ended handing me the money.

' What! You've gotta be kidding me... There were an ample of audience and if there weren't, that's not my fault!! I'm not the only one performing! I want my money and I'm not going to budge unless I get the whole amount. Period.' I spoke as I crossed my arms across my chest. 'Your opinion doesn't matter Primrose, I did exactly what was said to me.. And by the way consider yourself lucky that you even got the money you never deserved. So either you take the money or buzz of empty handed'
