Meet Sophia, Kairo, Evan and Angelina. Four young people almost adults who still have much to learn about pretty much everything.
They all struggle with some kind of problems from their past, but it is so much easier to defeat...
I turn around to see who is standing behind me and end up face to face with a blond guy who looks really pissed off. He's probably Sophia's boyfriend who she mentioned a couple of seconds before.
"This is my old friend Kairo," Sophia starts to explain but he interrupts her.
"Friends usually don't make out with each other, you know," he states arrogantly and starts approaching me.
Sophia steps in front of me, placing herself between us and I thank her in my mind. The last thing I want right now is a fight with her jelaous boyfriend making a scene in front of everyone. I didn't even want to come to this stupid party but I was very happy when I met Sophia. I wouldn't try to kiss her if I knew that she had a boyfriend. But she somehow forgot to mention that before and acted all flirty hugging me and kissing me on the cheek.
"He didn't know that I have a boyfriend," she starts after taking a deep breath "but he knows that now. Just please calm down and don't do anything stupid."
"How can I calm down? Some dick here has his hands all over my girlfriend and I am supposed to watch this calmly?" he screams at her.
I feel sorry for her and I know it's my fault.
"Wait, man," I interrupt them "I'm so sorry. It's my fault and you shouldn't be angry at her. She told me she has a boyfriend before I kissed her, so nothing happened."
"You just shut up, I am talking to her," he looks at me with contempt.
"James, stop. Let's just go outside to talk. Shouting and anger won't solve anything," she says to him slowly and stares at him for a couple of seconds. I see his anger slowly fading away while she takes his hand in hers and they walk away.
When they are a few meters away she quickly turns around to comfort me with one of her beautiful smiles and mouth a word 'sorry', I nod in a way that says 'it's okay' and look for my friends in a crowded place.
"Looking for me?" I hear a familiar female voice behind me. I don't know what is with people walking behind my back tonight.
I turn around and see Jane smiling at me conceitedly with her blonde hair tied in a messy ponytail.
"I saw a little scene you had here with your little new girlfriend and her jealous boyfriend? Am I right? It's so sad because you were all about her but she ditched you because of her pretty boyfriend," she teases me and I get all angry. I don't understand why she needs to interfere in other people's affairs.
"You know, if you wanted to bang me, you wouldn't have such difficulties as jealous boyfriends and shit?"
One month ago I would accept her shameless offer, but not now, not tonight. I feel like I'm an entirely different person than I was a month ago. A lot has happened and the last thing I want right now is to spend time with someone so superficial. And still, I'm here, at the party, full of drunk people who don't care about anything important in life.
"Whatever," I refuse her and she frowns. I offended her little ego. She is one of those girls who thinks that can have anyone and anything but actually has no one and nothing worthy in her life.
"Where is Jaiden? Is he alright?" I remember that Jaiden was blind drunk when I saw him last time.
"Yeah, he is okay, he is sleeping on the couch" she replies and gestures at Jaiden lying on the couch with his hands and legs all over the place. I have no idea how this guy gets so drunk every single time.
I decide to spend the rest of the night sitting near Jaiden watching over him and reading on my phone. I don't know how I can focus myself on reading in this wild and loud place but somehow I manage to do that.
I just hope everything is going to be all right with Sophia and her boyfriend. I really don't want to be the reason for them to break up. I don't even know why I wanted to kiss her when I only met her maybe an hour ago. Of course, we knew each other before but we didn't see each other for almost two years. I could ask her out and catch up with her before trying anything. I was so stupid acting like all the drunk people around here and I am not proud of myself. I decide to talk to Sophia as soon as possible and apologize for my behavior. I don't want to be this kind of a guy anymore.
