I opened my eyes to the blinding light from my window and a screeching from my alarm clock. Sighing I sat up, grabbed the annoyingly loud mechanical object, opened my window, then proceeded to chuck the poor screaming divice two stories into the coy pond outside my room. I took out my phone and looked at the date, my tired eyes squinting at the bright light. A loud banging was heard at my door before my eyes could adjust and properly see the mobile divice, and without warning my door slammed open, my mother came bursting in grinning like an idiot and started screaming happily and jumping around. I swear sometimes she's like a teenage girl. Though she lost my father a few years back she still acts as giddy and fun as ever.
After she was done with her joyful fit of screaming and laughter she came over hugged me tightly and said something in a barely audible whisper. She said "happy birthday my sweet little bunny" for some reason she's always called me  that science I was little but it's never bothered me. My eyes widened as I realized what she had said, today was my sixteenth birthday and the day I would shift into my first animal. I squealed and hugged my mother my eyes watering wishing my father could see this day.
My mother looked behind me at my desk, probably trying to check the time when she saw the spot where my clock was supposed to be. Her eyebrows furrowed and she looked at me in a scolding manner as she told me I needed to stop doing that but she would let it pass just today. Once I told her I needed to get ready for school she said she would have breakfast ready when I was down.
As I god out an outfit of black ripped jeans a shirt from a thing called creepypasta, a group of horror stories that are quite popular and an obnoxious pair of bright red converse I looked in the mirror at by less than perfect body. I was skinny a little under weight some would say, I had unruly thick black hair and slender bony hands with long nails that had slightly choppy looking dry skin due to me nightingale at it all the time. Sighing I took a shower did my light makeup and tries to straighten my hair. And slowly migrated downstairs.

Me and my Gbf Blake sat at the lunch table and watched in amusement as all the normal groups bickered or just ignored each other. I've known him for surprisingly 13 years, me and him met as he being the clumsy but he is fell on his face and me being an annoying three year old laughed at him. Surprisingly after that we decided to hangout and we just clicked, from then on we've been together. It's funny though because he's one of the only people I've ever gotten along with and he even knows what my family is. He is probably going to hang out today so he can be there when I shift though so ya.

Me and Blake were hanging out with my mother watching Netflix when for some reason I started to get uncomfortable so I decided to go outside. Suddenly an excruciating pain ripped through me, and if we had lived in town or near others they probably would have thought someone was being killed or something. My mother rushed outside joy and worry on her face as she came over and tried to comfort me muttering things like your fine or its ok. I felt a painful pop in my spine as it was being crushed into a smaller less straight version of itself and my arms and legs cracking into a twisted broken looking shape. I felt a strange tingling as I felt many different things changing and something growing out of my skin.
When I opened my eyes I had a different much shorter point of view and I looked back at a large scaly tail swaying behind me. Looking down farther I was confused as I saw feathers protruding from my back. I looked back at my mother in fear as she looked on in confusion horror or sadness I couldn't tell. She picked me up around the sides, brought me into the house bathroom and set me on the counter. Looking into the mirror I saw a strange looking creature that appeared to have a lizard or snake like tail but had the body of a chicken glowing eyes and extremely sharp talons.
What the fuck is going on?!?!
