Jake's POV
So, I tried getting answers from Anthony in the Command Center, but he just wouldn't budge. Being the Leader of the team, it's sort of my job to try and figure out everything I can for the team. Actually, it pretty much IS my job.
Not only is there a lot of pressure added on me for being leader, but my Dad, David, is relying on me. As cliche as this might sound from one of those movies where the Dad's the coach of his son, who's the captain of, let's say a basketball team, I really don't want to disappoint him.
Not trying to get all personal here, but let's just say that my Mom isn't around anymore. My Dad's still depressed about it, but if you the knew the story, you'd feel depressed about it too, even if it's not your problem.
I walk into the living room section of the base, and see Eddie sleeping, curled up in a yellow blanket on the couch, with The Flash on our flat-screened TV across from him. I chuckled as I saw his mouth hanging open and how tiny he looked in the fetal position.
Just staring at Eddie made me realize how much I missed him, we're considered one of the closest friends on the team, plus we got that platonic friendship going on. But with all of this mystery-stress-more mystery stuff going on, I figured I could use a good cuddle buddy.
I inch my way toward his sleeping body, wrapped my arm around his back, and felt the soft yellow silky blanket he was under. I hear his voice slowly wake up.
"Jake?" He said in a soft tone.
"Decided to crash with you." I said softly into his ear.
"Thanks, Bubba." He said back. Fun fact: Bubba was actually the nickname he gave me when he first started warming up to me.
I held him close as he snuggles up with me. Man, good to know cuddling helps with woes. Not only is Eddie a great cuddler, but I kind of needed something to help me with, you know, some of this stress. And I'm pretty sure cuddling is the way to do so. You know, even if it wasn't with Bridgette...
Eddie's POV
While I was taking a nap on the couch, with a yellow blanket wrapped around me like a human burrito, I suddenly woke up from someone touching me. That sounded kind of weird, sorry. But it was Jake, and I was relieved. I love Jake, he's that kind of guy that's not like most guys. He's such a sweet, genuine, loyal dude. Plus, if you've ever hugged him, you'd literally feel like you're hugging God. He's warm like that, in more ways than one. Like seriously, his clothes are usually pretty warm.
Maybe we've all been under some form of stress? You can't blame us, someone's literally trying to turn teenagers into mind-controlled little demon babies, and we're told to "stop it."
Teenagers are bad enough, I'm a teenager and I'm saying that. That says a lot.
I turn my head and see a suddenly sleeping Jake. I squeaked out a soft chuckle, but I just woke up, so I sounded like a creepy child-looking pedophile. Jake looked peaceful. But being leader is a stressful position, and he's already trying to figure out what he can with Anthony. But most importantly, what we're dealing with.
I slip my head in the crook of his arm, with my head touching his chest, and I felt his heartbeat. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty sure we were spooning. But I liked it. Not quite sure what they say about Boy and Boy cuddles, but that's the shit, guys.
