Chapter One

Atley pulled one shoe at a time and grabbed her bag, skipping down the stairs to her door. Before she walked out she turned to the kitchen to see her mother talking on the phone in one hand, the other with tea and her father drinking coffee and typing on his computer.

Typical.

Atley closed the door behind her and picked up her teal bicycle, hopping on and pedaling away to her new school.

Riverstone High

To say she was nervous was an understatement. She was afraid of what her first impression might be to the older students. She was afraid if she might get bullied or She won't fit in at all. She just wanted to get through the years quickly and finally graduate to leave. No Boys. She specifically had a no policy for boys and stood by it, no matter how cute they were.

She finally arrived and was met with colorful kids laughing, skateboarding, eating and play fighting in some distance. Atley hiked up her bag and started making swift steps to the entrance. Her stomach filled with crazy dragonflies as she pulled the door open to see more students.

Why is this place so crowded!!!

She rose her head strong and pushed past students to reach her locker without any commotion. And she happily succeeded. Atley couldnt help but smile to herself in accomplishment as she did a tiny jump to subside her dance. She filled her locker with all the supplies she needed for the semester and took out her schedule. She instantly frowned when she saw math in bold letters. She was terrible at math, always did bad on tests and could never focus. She was actually surprised at how she passed the grade but she was thankful to god she did.

She knew things good wouldn't last long.

Atley was the first to class and took a seat wherever she felt most comfortable with. Her body froze as kids started to flood inside, loud chatter filled the room and atley couldn't help but feel out of place. Finally her math teacher walked in with a big suitcase and opened it, taking out a large stack of papers, atley assumed, were for the class.

"Hello class, my name is Mr. Devon and I'll be your math teacher for the semester" Mr. Devon smiled warmly making kids sigh in awe. Atley looked around confused as to what they were sighing about but decided it was nothing and went back to listening to the teacher.

Before the teacher could begin his lesson a student ran in.

"George, already the first day of the semester and your late!?" Mr. Devon fumed. Atley looked at the boy and saw him already looking at her. This made her uncomfortably shift her gaze away.

"Kaden!" Mr. Devon seethed, kaden took his eyes off of Atley and looked at the teacher smiling.

"Sorry Richard I was too busy getting rid of my blue balls" everyone laughed as Mr. Devon's face turned a light shade of pink. Atley felt pity for the teacher but kept her mouth tightly shut from saying something utterly stupid.

"Well, you just got yourself a week detention"

"What the f-"

"Make it two" Mr, devon turned back around to the whiteboard and wrote down some equations, kaden couldn't think of other words and turned to his seat in the back.

Atley smiled and wrote down the equations in her notebook.

Atley couldn't really focus due to the amount of whispers from the back of her seat.

Two obnoxious girls where whispering how kaden was super hot and how they wanted him to-

Atley discontinued the thought and walked back to her locker, she was too happy to let that period ruin her. She had a free period next and exactly knew where to go.

The library. It was even bigger than what she saw on the internet. She looked around in awe as it had many books up above and in front of her. There was no kids in here and only a librarian who was sleeping with a book covered on top of her face.

Atley loved books. Not those romance, lovey dovey books. No, the books that had mystery, horror, even drama made her happy.

But this year she wanted to try everything. Before she could run to the mystery section she heard the door creak open.

She hid as the librarian woke up and the book fell to the floor to see who it was.

"Out!" She whispered. The students instantly left leaving the librarian to fall back asleep.

Atley waited a few minutes before getting up and tip toeing to the section.

Thank god I didn't get caught

Atley quietly laughed and started to pick out a book.

"Hi" atley jumped high and almost screamed but a hand covered her mouth.

Oh crap oh crap oh crap!!!!

The person pulled her all the way to the back of the library.
