Tonight was Friday the night of Max's party. Almost a week ago Jake broke up with me and Ben took me to out to go get ice cream. He told me he loved me, but I know he doesn't actually mean more than friends. There's no way he feels the same way I do about him, but I wish that he did.
"Which dress do you think looks better?" My other best friend Rose asks me.
She is gorgeous with her long wavy blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes. She's one of the nicest girls you'd ever meet and a huge girly girl although sometimes she can be a a bit of a slut. Right now we're in her room deciding what we should wear for Max's party which starts in almost two hours. She's holding up a little black dress in one hand and in the other she is holding a light green strapless with a red sashe in the middle and a flowy bottom that reaches mid-thigh. Such an obvious choice Rose.
" The green one, I don't think you want to get beer on your dress you use when you go to your dad's 'important events'?" I questioned her. Rose's mom is a lawyer and her dad is a State senator and often bring his family to the to the banquet dinners to show off his 'perfect family'.
"Forgot, my dad would've killed me if I ruin another one, thanks Mags, what dress are you going to wear to the party?"
"I'm thinking of wearing my peach dress, you know the lacey strapless top, with the wavy bottom? I haven't worn it in a while and I have the perfect shoes," I tell her as she searches for a pair of shoes out of her messy closet.
"Great choice we're gonna look amazing tonight! By the way, any interesting guys I should know about?"
" There is this one guy but I don't think he feels the same way. I've liked him for a while now but I don't think he even knows." I confessed to her thinking of Ben.
It feels good to finally tell someone.
"Well forget about him Mags, your beautiful and smart any guy would be lucky to have you! Let's go to the party to have fun and get drunk! Forget about him and any other douche-y dumb guy."
"Thanks Rose."
She was right your young only once and I should my life like there's no tomorrow. I smile thinking about the awesome fun I'd have at the party.
"Enough of that, let's get ready for the epic party."
We spent the next hour and half doing our hair and make up. Rose decided to curl her hair which cascaded down her back. She had on red lipstick and, put on mascara to make her eyes pop out. She finished her make up off with some blush and eye shadow. I decided to keep my hair straight and do the same thing Rose did but with pink lip gloss instead of lipstick. We talked about boys, and gossip for the past hour, Rose loved to gossip and could talk all day.
"Wow we look hot," I say as I look into the mirror. We both looked like the girls on magazine covers.
"Of course we do, ready to go?" She asks and I nod. We grab our purses and head out. Rose is rich but she's not snotty about it. She live's in a large blue house (even though her parents could afford a mansion) in a neighborhood like you would see on tv.
"Is Ben driving us home?" She asks as she gets in the passenger seat of my Porsche.
"Yup, who else would drive us home when we're drunk?"
I haven't been to a party in a while and I'm really excited because Max's throws the best parties in town. I hope I don't see Jake there tonight.
"So excited to see Max tonight?" I ask already knowing the answer, Rose blushes. Max and Rose have flirted a lot with each other and she has a huge crush on him. I wish that guy would man up and ask her out already.
