"Riley get up now!" I heard her shouting just outside my door
"I'm up mom!"

Typical, mom in a shit mood and taking it out on me, and before you call me dramatic just wait.

I rubbed my burning eyes and slowly lifted my head off the pillow, I reached to check if I had messages and as always, it was just Beth.

Beth
>>> sit with me in science?

Riley
<<< of corse

I checked the time, 7:48 am.

I got up from my bed my finally pushed myself to my wardrobe, still half asleep I stripped from my current clothes and pulled out a thrasher hoodie and some old ripped jeans and quickly put them on before rushing down stairs to where I could hear my mum screaming down her phone.

"I swear to fucking god rob, come get you're shit or it's going on the streets" she was practically screaming

My mom and some dude recently split up and now she's going crazy, but look, I'm not to mad about this breakup because rob was a total doucebag anyway.

Plus not like this is my moms first heartbreak, she's been with serval men since my dad and they split about 2 years ago, my mum just doesn't know how to keep her legs closed.

Sad part is she'd pick a dude over me anyday, even though I live with her she still thinks I'm "dads responsibility"

She ended the Call and smacked her phone on the table, I knew I was about to get yelled at once again, for no fucking reason.

"Riley, you wore that hoodie yesterday don't be disgusting, filth" she groaned and rolled her eyes at me

"Ever heard of a washing machine? Probably wouldn't, you don't do anything around the house" I stated rolling my eyes

"Excuse me?" She question waiting for me to repeat myself  before continuing

"I buy the food in this house, that's the main reason you're still alive, stop being a cry baby Riley" she said clenching her jaw in anger

Really cry baby? She's so immature it sickens me.

I walked away not wanting the argue back as I knew she would start swinging if I kept going.

I went back upstairs and did my hair and makeup as quick as possible and grabbed my bag and made a quick move to the front door trying to avoid any contact with my mother, I slid on some old vans and walked out the door and seen Beth's car waiting for me.

"Riley, were going to be late hurry up" I could hear the stress in her voice

"You stress to much, it's only 8:30" I said pulling open the door

"I'm not even stressing" she snapped

I nodded my head in agreement hoping she'd just shut up, I leaned back into my seat and buckled up, she drove away from my house in a rush kind of causing whip lash.

It was silent for a bit but Beth broke it.

"I was watching a movie last night, seventeen again, the one with Zac Efron, you know the one I'm talking about?"

"Yea" I said with a slight giggle

"I was watching it and it crossed my mind that he doesn't look seventeen at all, like we are seventeen and we look way younger than him, it's false advertising if you ask me"

"I didn't ask, but good point"

"Well you don't have to ask anyway, I say it the way it is"

"I noticed"

Beth had a point though, I started thinking about a lot of things.

Wow seventeen, I kind of feel left behind in this generation, most people in our level drink and have sex, even the unpopular people know how to get down, I mean, that's saying something, Beth and I don't even know what touching a guy feels like or how alcohol tastes, this is why we're known as innocent.
