It was dark in the hut. I lifted my head and looked around trying to sense any danger. It seemed normal, until a dark shade of orange filled the room and the smell of burning filled my nose. I jolted up almost tripping as a sprinted to the entrance of the cave waiting to see the forest. Instead of being greeted by the calm swaying of the tree leaves, I was attacked by a red, orange and yellow blur leaking into the entrance of the cave. The heat burned my chest making my fur frizz. I back up closing my eyes and using my wings to cover myself giving my ears time to loose the heat from my body. I fold in my wings letting me see the flame once more. The heat was less intense the further I stood. I was considering how this could have happened, almost blaming it of the sky fire, before seeing a group of Earthlings enter my hut.
They were holding bows and swords as if to threaten me. Attacking the earthlings is against dragon law, what was a meant to do? I turned running for the back of the hut but the raging fire outside had blocked it. I turn back to see the earthlings right on my tail. Literally! They had used a pitchfork to lightly staple my tail to the ground. I couldn't escape, even if I tired to fly though the fire, ripping the fur off the end of my tail, I wouldn't be able to fly. My home... my forest... A sharp pain entered my chest. I looked down the see an iron sword impaling me before opening my eyes and jolting up crying.
Light purple tears fell from my eyes. I check my chest to make sure it was a dream. I was unharmed... unscarred... so why do the tears keep falling. I stand up walking to the entrance of my hut. The tall, green forest and the swaying of the tree leaves calm my senses and slows my racing mind. No matter what it was, I have to tell the council.
I spread my wings taking a running start before flying over my forest watching the water from the lakes wash up and down the dirt and sand continuously. "I'll be back..." I whisper to the forest.
