It was a cold, rainy day at the Burrow. Molly Weasley was the only one currently home. Arthur had taken George, Fred, Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and Harry to a quidditch match. Molly had stayed at home to clean up the house since Harry and Hermione would be staying for a couple weeks until their 6th year at Hogwarts.

Molly realized that they would be home shortly so she decided to start dinner. She had gotten everything out and was about to turn the stove on when she heard a knock at the door. When she opened it she saw a skinny figure a few inches taller than her. The lightning flashed and she saw that he had striking blonde hair.

She pulled him into the house and gently pushed him into one of the kitchen chairs. She realized Draco was shivering, so she went into the family room and got a small blanket. She went back into the kitchen and draped it over Draco's shoulders. She sat in the chair across from him. She realized that he had a few bruises on his face and a rather deep looking cut on his lip. "What happened to you, honey?"

Draco looked up at her for the first time. She looked worried, scared even. Draco looked down and wiped a stray tear from his eye. "My father and I had a disagreement." He said with his voice cracking on the last word. "I wouldn't have come here but..." He took a shaky breath. "I had no where to go and I knew where your house was..." He trailed off.

Molly's face went from worried to furious in the matter of seconds. "There is no excuse for him to hit you." Draco looked down and shook his head lightly. "Has he hit you before?"

Draco glanced up again then looked back down. He nodded slightly then started to cry silently. Molly walked around the table to him and gave him a short hug then pulled away and turned his head so he would have to look at her. "Its alright now. I am not letting you go back there. You can stay here for as long as you like."

Draco's eyes went slightly wider and he backed away out of her grasp. "Mrs. Weasley, I could never. I don't want to intrude. You already have a large family, those who mostly hate me, and I don't want to add another person for you to worry about."

Molly looked taken aback. 'After everything he's been through, he doesn't want to stay because he thinks he'll intrude? How foolish. I will never let him go back to a place that hurts him. And I will need to have a long talk with everyone about how they're not supposed to hate anyone. Especially if they have a hard life like Draco's.'

Molly took Draco's hand. "Listen... I want you to stay here. You wouldn't be intruding at all. And I will have a serious talk with everyone about how mean they've been to you."

Draco shook his head fiercely. "No. No, Mrs. Weasley... I deserved everything they said and did to me."

Molly's eyes widened. "You absolutely did not!"

"You don't understand..." Draco laughed humorlessly with tears trailing down his face. "I was... So, so mean to them... They could never forgive me for that. I don't forgive myself."

Draco started to hyperventilate and Molly grabbed his wrists to pull him into a hug but he yelped and jumped back. Molly backed away a step but grabbed his hands. "Draco?" He shook his head violently and tried to pull away but Molly kept a firm grip. "Draco!" He stopped thrashing at Molly's firm tone. He was still crying and refused to look at her. "Draco dear..." She said softer. "Is something wrong with your wrists?" Draco started crying harder and tried to pull away weakly. She sighed. "Draco, if you tell me what's wrong then I can have Arthur heal you." Draco tried, again, to pull away but didn't put any effort into it. He nodded slowly, still crying. "I'm going to lift up your sleeve, okay?" He didn't say anything. She pulled it up slowly and saw bandages that were soaked in blood. They were messy and obviously put on in a hurry. She gave a short gasp and looked back up at Draco, who had his head down. "Did your father cut you?" Draco shook his head, staring at the floor. "Did you do this to yourself?"

Before Draco could answer the door opened and in walked the rest of the Weasleys, Hermione, and Harry. Draco hurriedly pulled out of Molly's grasp and pulled his sleeves down hopping no one saw.

Arthur turned around and spotted him. "Um... Molly," He turned to his wife. "Why is the Malfoy boy in our home?"

Molly quickly glanced at Draco, who was trying to make himself as small as possible. "Arthur, dear, Draco is hurt and needs to be healed as soon as possible." By this time everyone was staring at Draco.

Arthur frowned. "Why does he need my help?"

"He didn't have anywhere else to go, Arthur!" Molly's voice rose with every word.

"And why not? He's got a powerful dad!" Draco laid his head in his hands and started to sob again. It didn't go unnoticed to the children. "The Malfoys have been anything but nice to our family for as long as I can remember!" Arthur screamed.

Draco stood abruptly and choked back a sob. "M-mr. Weasley, y-you're right. I-I w-will leave this i-instant." He made his way to the door but Molly grabbed his wrist. He let a pained expression pass over his face, but no one noticed. Or so he thought.

Molly stood up straight. "Draco is staying here."

"Mum!"

"Mum no!"

"Are you sure about this?"

"Children." Molly said pulling Draco closer to her. "I expect you to be nice to Draco here. He's been through a lot and he doesn't need you all making it worse."

The children stood there dumbfounded. Hermione was surprised to say the least, but she would of course befriend Draco if that was what Molly wanted. Ron and Harry couldn't believe that she was sticking up for Draco Malfoy of all people. Fred had the same thought. George, on the other hand, was only thinking about how pained Draco looked when Molly grabbed his wrist.
