It was another sunny day, and birds were singing outside your window. You sat in your room with the curtains blocking the light from outside. Three months ago, a close friend of yours passed away in a hit and run. It was a drunk driver that had hit them. Ever since the news and funeral, you had locked yourself away from the world, ignoring calls, and texting people as little as possible. You hadn't stopped feeling negative since the funeral. Which was strange compared to your happy optimistic self. Here you were, blocking out the sunshine and looking at old photos on your phone of when your pal was still around. This had brought tears to your eyes for the eighth time today. You felt like a piece of your soul was removed that day, you saw them in that casket. Looking as if asleep and if you shook their shoulder they would stir and say," How long was I out for?". It left you in a rut of sadness that had gotten worse each day.
Your friends had seem to get over it easily and told you to do the same. Little did you know you're day of silence would be disrupted that very day, as elsewhere a male had begun to worry a bit too much about your change. This male was known as Antonio. He had noticed the decline of positivity and decided to go visit you in the afternoon, since he had his job to do.
After his job, he would go visit you which he will figure out what caused this sudden change in behaviour. He made it his mission to figure it out. He began to leave the place and head for yours. You both had met through Gilbert, who you knew from the friend that had passed away. He had never met them, nor did you or Gilbert tell him that a friend had passed. After a few minutes, he arrived at your place. He approached the door and rang the doorbell.
Startled by the doorbell, you went to the door and called out, in the most stable voice you could muster," W-who is it?" You silently cursed yourself for stuttering. He perks up and calls out to you, cheerfully," Chica! It's me, Antonio!" You frown slightly, clawing your arm a bit," Wh-what do you need, Toni?" He smiled," I just wanted to come visit you, Chica! Can I come in?" He looked at the door hopefully. You muttered to yourself before softly opening the door. "Come in..." He cheerfully entered the house and looked at you surprised. You had bags under your eyes, your hair looks like it hasn't been brushed for a while, a sad but neutral expression was on your face, eyes read heavy internal pain, and looked like you hadn't eaten very much for a long while. "Hey Chica! Let me cook you something!" You sigh, " No... I'm fi-" Your stomach growled interrupting you. You look at it, slightly betrayed. Antonio chuckled," I'll take that as a sí, chica!" He dragged you to the kitchen and began to cook. You sat at the table with a small sigh. You watch Antonio cook in your kitchen, wondering about the true reason he was here. After a while he brought you your favourite dish. Your stomach growled, demanding you to eat. You munched quietly on it as Antonio sat across from you, worried but smiling, "So how are you?" You flinch slightly, "I'm fine." He tilted his head, clearly able to tell you are lying. Antonio said, in a more serious tone, "Are you sure of that, cariño? You haven't been the same cheerful, outgoing self as per usual. In fact, more often than not, you're home locked away from the world. And you've got me worried, Chica. Maldita sea, ¡ni siquiera has sonreído una vez desde que llegué aquí!" (Translation: Damn it, you have not even smiled once since I got here! I used Google translate, so correct me if it's wrong!)
You were a bit startled as his tone grew more worried and slightly angry. You sat there like a deer in headlights. He seemed genuinely worried unlike your other friends. He then said something even more startling. He grabbed your hand, looking particularly sad, "I miss when you came to visit me every other week... You stopped about three months ago. And I just want to know what's wrong." You frown and don't look him in the face, " I can't tell you." He looks disappointed, but then determined, "If you can't tell me then I won't leave you alone until you smile!" This startled you, you asked in a nervous tone," Why..?" He cheerfully said, "I want to see you smile! A real one! They always looked gorgeous on you." His statement turned into what you believe to be a flirt. You forced a laugh, " Real funny, Toni." Antonio shook his head, " No, Chica! It's the truth! You always look so beautiful when you smile, even when you don't, you're still gorgeous." Antonio didn't know what happened to cause this strong sadness, whether it was bullying, or something else. His mission was to make this sadness end. He blurted out, "I want to see you smile!" He clearly doesn't realize he sad that aloud. You stare, "You can try, I guess..." Antonio blushed slightly, realizing he said it aloud. He smiled, dorkily, "Alright then, Chica! Get dressed, We're going to go out and have fun!" Sighing, you got up and went to get dressed.
After a bit, you came out in a grey shirt, a blue jacket that was light and jeans. Antonio smiled," You look pretty, Chica!" You nod, "Thank you?" He gently held your hand and began to walk with you out the front door. "Uh... do I get to know where we're going?" You asked Antonio, already knowing what the response would probably be. Antonio shook his head," Nope! It's going to be a suprise!" He laughed goofily. You shook your head and thought to yourself, 'Called it.' You followed Antonio quietly.

Antonio had taken you to a large amusement park, a restaurant of your choice, and now the two of you were walking through a park near your house enjoying nature, together. You hadn't smiled yet. You thought back on your adventurous day. It was quiet fun. despite the fact that you didn't smile. However a little smile worked it's way onto your face, without you noticing. Antonio had noticed, "There's the smile I missed." 'Maybe Life wasn't as painful as you had originally thought,' You thought as the smile grew a bit bigger. You look at Antonio," I guess I am."
