Chapter 8

My mum and Rae were still away on honey moon as it was only just Wednesday. I had just got home from footy practise and i was happy because i found out i'd be playing the whole game. I quickly got changed and done my homework and got prepared for the toughest challenge i will ever face in my entire life: washing Mouse!

"Mouse!" i shouted from the bathroom and he came running but as soon as he saw the bathtub he ran, i ran after him around the house, thank god i was alone. He ran outside and i quickly go my shoes on. I was wearing grean skinie jeans and a pink top that stuck to me and a red hoodie. I ran outside and saw the gate was open "fuck you dog!" i mumbled and went out the gate "MOUSE!"  i shouted but couldnt see him, i heard some laughter by the park and walked down to see Isle playing there and Mouse licking her face, i sighed "there you are you dumb mut!" i said and he looked at me,

I walked over but he ran away, i tried to chase him and Isle was laughing "Mouse, come back!" i said and he ran into Katherines garden, i sighed and looked up to the sky "help me god!" i prayed and walked into her garden. He had walked into the kitchen where i saw Katherine kneeling down and petting him and he was liking his face.

I walked up slowly and grabbed his coller he tried to squirm away "sit!" i said and he sat on my foot "Mouse!" i said through gritted teeth and he just licked his nose with his tongue, Isle came running in and started laughing. I looked over at Katherine and frowned, she looked like she was about to burst into tears, i had also notcied today in chemistry she seemed very distant.

I sighed and turned to Isle "hey Isle, would you like to go play with Mouse outside, he seems to like you!" i said and she smiled "can i?" she asked and i nodded "go!" i said to Mouse and he ran after Isle, Katherine was still kneeling down and petting Mouse up until he left, i knelt down beside her and she sat on the floor with me "whats up?" i asked and she smiled and turned to me,

"im fine sweetie!" she said but her voice was almost breaking, a tear ran down her cheek and she went to wipe it away but i did it for her and she just miled "are you sure?" i asked and she sighed and more tears fell and i hugged her and she held onto me tight and cried onto my shoulder.

I kissed the top of her head and she still cried. "whats got you so upset?" i asked and she wiped her eys and looked up at me "im sorry, i shouldnt have cried your shoulder's all wet now, im sorry i dont normally cry!" she said and i frowned "you should, its not a weakness its a strength!" i said and she smiled "my eh my mum died two years today!" she said and i could tell she was holding more tears back,

I hugged her again and it was a wee while but she started to cry again "your shirt!" she said and i laughed a bit "as long as your okay then ruin it!" i said and she laughed a bit. We sat like that for a bit listening to Mouse and Isle playing outside. She sat up and looked at and smiled "thank you, i dont normally cry i try to stay strong infront of Isle, im scared if she see's me cry something might happen!" i frowned and wiped away her tears "nothing will happen but the fact she'll know your human and that you care for her!" i said and she smiled,

"thank you for letting me ruin you shirt!" she said and pointed to the wet spot on my shoulder and i laughed "nothing that a good go in the washing machine want fix, you okay?" i asked and she nodded "fine!" she said and i smiled and helped her up "oh god, i've got to get the dinner ready!" she said looking at the time and i shook my head "go and play with Isle take your mind of things, i'll fix your dinner!" i said and she smiled "you sure?" she asked and i nodded "yes now go!" i said and she laughed a bit and went outside "Mummy!" i heard Isle shout and Katherine went over to her,

I tunred around and got the dinner sorted. It didnt take long, she had something layed out for them so i just made it. When it was done i called on them and they came in and sat at the table "there we go!" i said goving them there plates and i kissed Katherine on the top of her head and sat opposite me "thank you Sky!" Isle said and i smiled "no problem sweetie!" i said and looked at Katherine, she was eating her food but also looked a bit distant,
