million reasons

Regina waited patiently outside of the school gates for her son to appear
meanwhile a hesitant queen watched
discreetly from Regina's Mansion many mirrors.
The queen had thoughts of happiness
very few and far between
but right now she was filled with every villains one true enemy, Hope.
But her hope was quickly fizzling out as she thought about the endless possibilities of her forbidden romance.
Regina had finally made a life for herself as a hero.
as a mother.
as a friend.
As a sister
And now she could be throwing it all away for her.
a beast.
bestowed upon a life of pain and anger.
but what if Regina was her happy ending.
Or more so a happy beginning?

As Regina heard the final bell ring, a stampede of students rallied out of the school gates and a tired Henry trudged behind.
"Mom, What are you doing here?"
Henry asked as his mother came into view.
"Henry thank god your still here!"
Regina said as she wrapped her arms around the 16 year old.
"I was afraid Ms.Swan was going to grab you before I could speak to you."
"Mom, what is it seriously?"
Henry questioned,
"You didn't try and fire her again because whatever she said or did, she probably didn't mean it"
"No Henry, I just need you to come back home for a bit for a chat"
"Okayyy but can you be quick I've got a date with Violet at 7 and I can't be late again!"
"Henry Daniel Mills, I am your Mother who raised you. Your lucky I haven't threatened to disintegrate Violet at this point"
"not cool mom, not cool"

To safe both of their energy, Regina transported them back to her mansion hallway.
"Henry, I have to show you something and I want to tell you this changes nothing. I'm your mother and no one is gonna take that away. And you can walk away if you want, don't ever think I'd blame you."
Regina looked her son, her happiness, in the eyes a single tear racing down her cheek.
"It's okay mom, I will always love you, even if you decide to disintegrate my girlfriend."
A soft chuckle left both mouths as Regina took his hand tightly.
"And anyway it's not like your the evil queen again because that would be a disaster."
