"SUPRISE!!!!!!!!"
As the lights flashed on I saw all of the pack members jump up with grins on their faces. Around the room there were balloons and streamers. Music started blasting and someone yelled "LET THE PARTY BEGIN," as I turned back to the boys.
"Is all of this for me?" The shock was evident in my voice. They all grinned.
"Well we heard you mention your birthday earlier..."
"And we wanted to make sure you got to celebrate."
"And everyone likes a party sooo"
"Surprise!"
They had done all of this for me? Me? They cared, every single one of them. Even the other pack members who didn't know me yet cared enough to be there. For the first time in forever, the feeling of true happiness overtook me and I couldn't help but start smiling, laughing, and crying. I must've looked ridiculous but I was so overwhelmed with the new feeling.
"You guys are all amazing. This means the world, thank you thank you thank you thank you!" I ran up to them attempting and almost succeeding in engulfing them all into a hug.
"Alright Alright enough with the water works, come with me really quickly!" Dylan shouted as he dragged me up the stairs. He pulled me along the hallway for about a minute until finally we stopped and pushed open a door into what I assumed to be his room. The room was big, with a bed on the back wall and a couch in front of the TV. The decorations looked like they were right out of pottery barn, I fell in love at first sight. On the couch sat a petite, perky blonde who's eyes lit up when we entered the room.
"Riley, I would like you to meet my mate Bailey. She helped Aiden set up the party while we were at dinner. Bailey, this is Riley," Dylan introduced as he stared lovingly at his mate. I smiled as she jumped up and almost knocked me over; engulfing me in a hug. "You are the absolute prettiest thing I've ever seen!! We are going to be the best of friends I just know it!"
I couldn't help but laugh, "Aw you're so sweet, it's super nice to meet you! Thank you so much for setting up my party, it's absolutely amazing."
"Oooo speaking of that, we need to get you ready!"
"Uh what?" I asked, dumbfounded.
"Well you can't go to a party looking like that, no offense. We gotta dress you up a little bit. I figured just some make up and we could tease your hair a little bit. Oh and I have the perfect dress for you to borrow!!"
Now I am not one to wear make up or get dressed up at all. It just isn't in my nature. But I sat there quietly as Bailey teased and dabbed and poked and plucked; hoping that maybe I would look a least somewhat decent.
After she finished with my hair and make up, she rushed into her closet.
"Okay it might not be your style but trust me, I know this will look amazing on you," she stated as she walked out of the closet carrying a black silk dress.
"Oh jeez," I said, "this is super cute but I'm too fat to wear this, I'm sorry."
She laughed, "You're kidding me right? You're tiny! Look at you!! Just do me a favor and try it on! If you don't like how it looks you don't have to wear it."
I sighed in surrender as I grabbed the dress and started putting it on. When I was finished I turned to show Bailey and her jaw dropped. I mean practically to the floor. My heart broke. "Is it really that bad?" I questioned. There was a pause.
"Bad? Riley go look at yourself.."
I hesitated before walking to the mirror and what I saw in front of me stunned me. I didn't even recognize the girl in front of me. I was never one to wear a lot of flashy make up or show too much skin, but as I studied my reflection I fell in love. Bailey had perfectly accentuated my cheek bones and my jaw line, making my features look absolutely stunning. She had used the perfect amount of eyeshadow and eyeliner to make my blue eyes pop, and my dark lips stood out from a mile away. The dress fit me perfectly, it showed off just the right amount of skin, and I looked tiny.
