Shattered

      It was around eleven in the night and  Dylan flipped mindlessly through an old comic book he had found under his bed. He had no interest in reading it, but it was better than doing nothing. He heavily sighed and tossed the comic book across the room trying to make it into the trashcan. The book missed the trashcan and landed near his desk. He got up from where he was sitting and walked over to pick it up.

Suddenly, from behind him there was a loud knock coming from his window. He walked over and opened the curtain. There was one more  knock  and then Dylan opened the window.

"Jesus, did you die or something?" Adrian jumped through the window and got inside, "I called you like ten times."

"Sorry, my dad took my phone away." Dylan said as he sat on his computer chair.

"For cheating on the math test?" Adrian said annoyed.

"Yeah, I told you we shouldn't have stolen the test from Mr. Beyers." Dylan said.

"Who cares man, I do it all the time." Adrian shrugged carelessly.

"Oh yeah, so why did we get caught?"

"Shit happens man." Adrian said as he flopped down on Dylan's bed.

"And because of that, I'm stuck in here ." Dylan said.

"Dude who gives a fuck. It's not that big of a deal."

"I do!" Dylan said, "You know if I don't raise my grades my dad is shipping me off to who-"

"Blah-blah-blah Yeah who knows where." Adrian said mocking him, "It will be okay."

"No dude, it's not okay."

Adrian got up, "Come on, get your shit. We're going."

"Where?" Dylan said.

"To the Freedom Feast." He walked over to the open window.

"I told you, I can't. I'm grounded." Dylan said.

Adrian sighed really loud "Do you ever hear yourself when you talk? You sound like a broken record saying the same shit over and over and overrrrr again."

"What's your point?"

"My point is, all you care about is school related shit. Can you just not be yourself for once and just live a little."

Dylan glanced at the door, "Ethan is gonna find out I snuck out and he's gonna rat me out."

Adrian laughed, "Are you joking? Fuck Ethan."

"Ethan is a major asshole. He'll tell my dad I snuck out."

"Your brother is not even here dude. I saw him making out with Stacy at the park-he's probably busy getting laid."

"Yeah right." Dylan said sarcastically rolling his eyes.

"Come on." Adrian said making his way to the window, "Live a little."

"Fine." Dylan said as he jumped out the window, behind Adrian.

Dylan glanced at the window making sure no one heard him sneak out.

"Come on." Adrian said grabbing him by the arm, "You're such a little bitch sometimes."

They both got in the car and Dylan put on his seat belt, "So since when do you have a car?"

"Since today."

"Your mom gave you her car?"

Adrian laughed as he turned on the car, "No she's sleeping."
