Chapter 2
I arrived at the gas station quickly, going slightly above the speed limit as I drove here. The small rest stop is nothing more than two older style pumps and a tiny convenient store. I parked my motorcycle next to one of the pumps and walked inside the store. I looked at the small grey haired old man sitting behind the counter.
"Do you take card or cash?" I asked him, pulling out my wallet to pay.
"Cash only, my dear." His voice had a wise and sincere tone to it. His sharp features told me that he used to be very handsome. The years had seemed to ware down what I assumed used to be a strong handsome man.
I handed him some money, and he followed me outside to the gas pump. Taking the pump out, I opened the fuel tank for him. He filled my tank and made his walk back to the store. I closed the small silver cap for my gas tank and positioned myself on my bike.
I looked around the small road clearing, not quite sure what I am looking for. With my helmet off, I took a deep breath in through my nose, trying to pick up any unfamiliar or dangerous scents. I picked it up immediately, rogues. I looked franticly around the trees to see if I could spot them. Sure enough, I was met with three pairs of yellow eyes, peeking through the tress. Noticing my stair, the three large wolves stepped out of their places and looked directly at me.
I hadn't had a confrontation with rogues in a while, and it kind of peeved me that they would pick now to come after me. I had been careful before, almost always fighting in human form, never revealing my tiger unless I trusted the person. Even if this did turn into a fight, I couldn't risk the store clerk see me kill three giant wolves. He would most likely call the cops on me. I looked at the wolves in the most challenging way I could, daring them to follow me. Maybe I can pull off the road farther up and fight them there. Slipping on my helmet, I started up my bike, and drove down the road.
After a good hour and a half of driving, I could see a small dirt road lead off into the forest. I could tell no one really used it, because it is hidden by some small bushes, if you weren't looking for it, you probably wouldn't have found it. I made a sharp right turn, speeding down the dirt road. Taking one look over my shoulder, I could see the three wolves openly following me down the dirt road. I quickly turned back to the road, making sure there wasn't any dangers that might pop up in the road. I could start to make out the outer ring of a clearing, and turned back around to check on my pursuers. Only to turn around, in time to see the three wolves taken down by four larger wolves. I watched, dumb struck, as the four wolves finished the three rogues. After killing the rogues, the four large wolves began to chase me on my bike.
With my eyes on the wolves chasing me, I didn't see the large tree root sticking up out of the ground in front of me. My bike bucked up, sent into the air from the small ramp the root made. My bike and I came crashing to the ground and tumbling into the middle of the clearing. As soon as I came to halt, I jumped up to my feet, ready to defend and attack. It took me a second, but the pain finally settled in, and I immediately regretted standing so quickly. I looked down at body and could see that my jacket and pants were nearly shredded to scraps. The fingers on my left hand were bending in a horrifying way, and I could feel the broken ribs inside my chest, pressing against my lungs, making it harder to breath. A sense of oxygen loss coursed through my stinging veins, and I ripped my helmet off, thankful that it had protected my head.
I looked around the clearing, assessing my surroundings for anything that could help me. All hope of help, was quickly lost when I looked to my right. Standing four stories tall, was an enormous mansion, with about twenty other werewolves sitting in their human forms on the lawn in front of the mansion. Some of them, women and children, were quickly rushed inside, as the men stood up and began a predatory stalk towards me. The four wolves from before slowed their pace and made a large circle, around me, with the other men. I looked around the circle, waiting for one of them to step forward. Even injured, I refused to go down without a fight.
The first person to step towards me was a fairly young guy, I estimate maybe 25 or 26 years old. He wasn't as tall as some of the men in the circle, but he wasn't the shortest either. His build was muscular, but he didn't look like someone who used much brute force. No, he was quick, he would probably make the first move, depending on which hand he is dominant in, he would through a straight jab to the head, try and knock me down.
After being in kick boxing for so long, I had learned to read peoples attacks by studying their physical physic. I could plan out an entire fight, before it happened, just by reading my opponent's place of mind and physical stature.
Just as I estimated, he threw a right jab, straight for my temple. Knowing now that he is right handed, I ducked out of the way and aimed a high kick to his shoulder, dislocating the bones of his right shoulder. The pain in my ribs was getting worse with the all the movement, but I continued to fight. Letting his arm hang limply, he threw a sloppy left hook, only for me to duct and plant a right upper-cut to his jaw. Earning myself a cracking from his jawbone. He staggered backwards and was quickly pulled out of the circle by one of the other men.
The next person to come at me, was one of the wolves. He was largest one out of the four, and he was a lot bigger than I was. He took off in a sprint towards me. Studying the way he ran, I could see that he had an old injury on his hind left leg. It looked healed, but was still causing him a slight limp as he ran. Baring his teeth at me, he went to bite my neck. Side stepping out of the way, I made my way behind him, side-kicking him on his hind left leg. The instant my kick landed, the leg bent in a sickening angle. Taking the opportunity, I elbowed him between the shoulder blades, causing him to slide to the floor unconscious.
The next person was about to step forward, until a booming voice yelled out from the porch.
"STAND DOWN! EVERYONE MOVE AWAY FROM THE GIRL!" His voice sent pleasant shivers down my spine. The authority in his voice made me inwardly respect him. It didn't matter who 'he' was, I already could sense the power he held. Slowly turning around, I came face to face with the most stunning person I had ever seen. He stood at a height of what looked to 6'5", and he had a muscular yet light build about him, that told me he was extremely strong, and very quick.
The men around me gave a chorus of "Yes Alpha", quietly stepping back from me, and retreating into the house. He looked me up and down, watching every small movement I made. In a few long strides, he was in front of me, staring down intensely. I had yet to meet his stern eyes.
"Look at me." He spoke in a softer yet still authoritative voice. His power was coming off him in waves, almost making me want to bow to the man before me. I slowly moved my eyes to him, and the instant our eyes locked, I felt a shiver run down my spine, and my breath hitch in throat. I gasped for air, still at a painful loss from my broken ribs. Black specks threatened to cloud my vision. Forcing them back slightly, I could feel a wave of dizziness spread threw me, making my head pound and throb with pain. I continued to hold his gaze.
"My name is Alpha Christopher Halloway of the Silver Knight pack." His voice was so alluring and made me want to melt at the knees. I had never felt like this around any person before. He gently reached out and stroked my cheek with the back of his hand. Where he touched me began to tingle and burn in the most wonderful way. As he pulled his hand away, I could hear the slight echo of my tiger in the back of my head.
Mate Mate Mate
She kept repeating it, and I could see the realization in his eyes as well. My lungs and head felt like they would explode at any second, and I finally gave one last struggled breath before passing out.
I hope you guys all liked the chapter. I'm really sorry it took me so long to update. I will try to update quicker next time.
Second song:
Centerfold-The J. Geils Band
This song is so much fun. I really like older songs, mostly 80's rock and genres like that. Please listen to this song, it's great to dance to.
