A Man Scorned...
He was looking at her with so much hatred in his eyes that she could do no more than stare, transfixed by the raw animal magnetism he exuded.
There was a calculated grace in her steps as she fought within herself not to flee, not to make a run for it while she could. She looked at him with fear tainting her soul but love surging in her heart as she watched him struggle to keep his emotions in tight reign.
And there he stood, holding back the burning rage and the desire clawing its way out of him at the sight of her innocent face and that exquisite figure.
Jesus, but she was beautiful!
How he longed to pull those pins from her elegantly coiffed hair and drag his fingers through the soft auburn tresses. How he ached to kiss those plump lips of hers and taste the desire in her blood throbbing in his own veins.
But no, he pulled himself short.
She is not the woman she once claimed she was. Not the innocent little angel he believed her to be when he'd found her beaten up within an inch of her life in that disgusting little club.
Once upon a time he had been fooled by those enchanting green eyes and that deliciously wicked body but not now. Not ever again!
He had, for once in his life, let his guard down with her. Only ever with her and what did she do? She threw it back in his face without remorse.
She'd seen him beg - watched his pride, his soul crumble and fall apart right before her and she didn't even have the decency to pretend she cared. She didn't cry, he wasn't even worth a single salty tear.
Well, he'd show her now. He’d show her how he was in real form. He wouldn't save her, wouldn't be her avenging angel anymore. He'd crush her dreams like she did his and reduce her to a bloody mess of the woman she is.
See just how elegant, how poised she'll be when he'd stripped her of every single thing she had and she's left with no choice but to come to him - on her knees.
With that thought in his mind, he smirked with all the confidence she had once bared him of as he took his bride's hand and they turned to face the altar.
