He watched as the couple nearly ten feet ahead of him held hands. They both wore huge grins on their faces, their mouths probably hurting from the happiness they displayed. The groom looked spiffy in his tux and the best part about it all was that not a piece of lint was in sight. The bride, wore a floor-length dress that accentuated her figure in all the right places. Anybody would admit that the soon to be newlyweds looked spectacular in their formal attire. Anybody except Dylan.

The inside of his body was consumed in sadness. Regret. Depression. All of these emotions were flowing through him because he couldn't get his shit together. The woman in white that was reciting her vows to her husband had once belonged to Dylan. At some point, that smile she currently wore was something Dylan believed only he could make the world see. Now, it was some douche taking away the woman he still loved.

Oh, that hurt him even more. He still loved Y/N. Every second of everyday since he ran into her for the second time of his life, he thought about her. Her luscious hair, her bright E/C eyes, her kissable lips, her cute figure, her everything. Those were just the physical aspects that he loved but what he loved more was her personal traits. He adored her humbleness to every single human being on the planet. He loved that she was trustworthy. He couldn't help but laugh at every single joke he made. Anything Y/N said or did, Dylan's heart grew bigger with love for her.

He had hoped that after hanging out for a few times, maybe they could try again; rebuild the relationship they once had. He wanted to feel euphoria all over him again like he did before when he was with Y/N. He wrote a speech for her that went up to three pages on why he still loved her and once he was finished reciting every word he had written to Y/N, he waited with so much anticipation. Then she said no.

"No." It repeated itself over and over in his head like a broken record that seemed to be growing louder. Dylan's heart cracked more each time he heard the rejection in his head.

Dylan had failed to keep his promises the first time. He grew big in fame and suddenly, Y/N became second at everything. She waited for his Skype and FaceTime calls every night but never heard a word from him until the wee hours of the mornings or sometimes, never at all. His visits consisted of seeing his friends and family but not once did his girlfriend cross his mind. The whole time, Y/N hoped that he would show up to her house and she could act surprised about his visit... but he never did.

And then there was the worst argument to spew between the couple constantly: females. Plastered on the front cover of every teen magazine to exist was Dylan's face, along with either a model, an actress, a singer, or a celebrity of some sort. They held hands like a couple, shared hugs like a couple, kissed like a couple. It sickened Y/N's heart because these were larger promises Dylan had made before he left Texas for California.

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry is what he repeated to Y/N every time she brought up the issue. It's okay, it's okay, it's okay would by Y/N's response to his apologies. Saying sorry would keep Dylan around longer and maybe he could change.

However, agreeing with Dylan's actions stopped being okay for Y/N. She couldn't handle letting the cycle continue where he cheated, she forgave him, they stuck together, and then it would start all over. It got tiring waiting around for him to notice her like he did before money and fame came into the picture.

At first, Dylan accepted the breakup. He did what any other male did; he partied hard when the opportunity swooped in for him to have fun and he had a fling every once in a while with girls who loved only his face. He enjoyed being the single man for a while.

The fun and games ended when all of his friends became boyfriends and Dylan was the only single one out of the group. Plans were constantly cancelled, he was never invited to the special hangouts, and if a couple was nice enough to invite him, he was the third wheel. That's when he really started to miss Y/N and regretted every decision he made when he was with her.

One fact he knew for sure about Y/N was that she never gave people second chances. She had always been taken advantage of by those she loved and like most nice people, her heart became hard to please when you crossed her. Dylan was lucky enough to earn more than one chance and that was because Y/N loved him.

The past tense of the word made Dylan shiver as he sat outside watching her recite her vows to her soon-to-be husband. She admitted that her love for Dylan had dissipated when she moved on. All of the memories they made as a happy couple before he became an actor were moments she would cherish dearly. Her love for Dylan, however, was no longer there because she disliked the young man he had become.

Then, it all happened so quickly. One minute, Y/N was saying her vows and then the next, she was kissing her husband on the lips. Dylan watched as the man that could've been him wrapped his arms around Y/N waist, picking her up in the air. The audience watching the newlywedded couple applauded loudly, their loud actions pulling Dylan further into the scary reality before him: Y/N was married. And his chances with her were gone forever.

He failed at his job of being the perfect boyfriend for her in the past and that was because each promise he made to her was suddenly broken when he was on his own.

Attention ladies: If a man treats you wrong too many times, do not stay with him. The love you claim to have for him is your way of not wanting to be alone and seen as a single loser. Just know that if you leave him after he constantly mistreats you, there will be more and better males out there for you. You're human and deserve to be treated like one.
