"Mabel?"
"Yes, Andrew?" The princess replied to him, pulling away lightly from his torso, blushing upon realizing how close their faces were to each other.
Prince Andrew brushed the back of his hand smoothly along her soft, rosy cheeks. Princess May-
May stopped writing and looked back over the page, blushing as she noticed the accidental name change, before erasing it, and starting again.
Princess Mabel fidgeted and her heart did tailspins. There were so many things that he could say, and every one of them made her lighter than the clouds above them, sailing over the glowing rays of the setting sun.
But no words pasted between them. Only the slight gasp from Mabel as he came closer to close their distance.
"Hey May, whatcha doin'?"
"Nothing!" May screamed, not expecting Max to be in her room, where she was cautiously writing her story. Franticly, she attempted hiding it from him by slipping her red rose decorated notebook under the covers. Max, however, already saw the blush overcrowding her face.
"Hey, let me see that!" He shouted climbing over her to get to it location on her other side.
"No! Stop! Hey!"
"Got it!" Max announced, running off. Though, a few minutes later, he came back in, but not with his smirk that the 15 year old hazelnut brunette was expecting.
Instead his face expressed pity and an off aura of light amusement. He slowly walked over with his head hung low, handing her back her floral associated notebook with a sigh. He had read it.
"May..." Her 13 year old brother started. He looked back up, sighing again, "...You need a boyfriend."
Hearing those words from a younger Max were to be unthinkable, but now that he was older and already confessed to his crush just last week, it was embarrassing for the red bandanna-wearing teen.
"No I don't," she said, trying not to get mad while failing at preventing her cheeks from reddening, "What makes you say that?"
Max found it funny a little, due to her density.
The girl didn't notice the similarities between the names that her brother did.
So, he decided to show her.
Without a word, Max flipped through the pages after she had handed it over when he gestured for it. Stopping one page, where all the characters were gathered in town, he flipped around the pencil in his hand to the eraser end.
"Max! What are yo--!"
"--Shh!" The younger Maple sibling shushed, erasing a few words, before writing some different ones in their place.
Handing the written literature to his sister, he pointed out what had been changed. May looked over at the directed locations, spotting nothing.
"Wait... What did you even change?" She asked him in confusion.
"Well take a closer look."
To her surprise, in doing so, she had found that the characters names had changed.
Princess Maybelline's lady-in-waiting, who was once named Mindy, now had the name of her best friend, Misty. The name of the princess's younger brother too, had changed from Maxwell, to just Max. Danielle, the indentured servant too, had become the name of one of her friends named Dawn.
"What is this!?" She accused her quiet brother, as if he had done something unthought of. Max scoffed, giving her the means to continue reading.
That's when it hit her, making her freeze, like a sudden signature toss of a red rose.
