'I need to head to work but I'll come back first thing tomorrow morning, okay?' Wilmer says as he tucks the blanket around Penelope and turns to face Demi who's curled up on the chair with a blanket which was provided by the hospital.

'Okay... Thank you for today, Wilmer. It's been a lot easier having you here than it would've been on my own.' She admits and he shakes his head.

'You don't have to thank me. Promise me you'll try get some sleep while I'm away? She's fast asleep and the machines will beep if anything happens.' He says making his way over to her and kissing the top of her head.

'I know.' She replies quietly.

'Do you need me to bring anything in tomorrow? I can drop by your place if you need clothes or that?' He asks and she nods her head.

'Could you pick me up some sweats and that?' She asks reaching into her bag and grabbing her keys.

'Course I can. What about for Miss P?' He asks and she glances down at the diaper bag.

'Just a few sleepsuits will be good for her.' She replies.

'Okay. I'll text you later to see how you both are.' He says.

'Okay, see you tomorrow.' She replies.

'See ya.' He says before quietly leaving the room. Glancing over at the crib Demi smiles slightly as she sees Penelope sleeping peacefully, the steady beeping of the machines reassuring her that her daughter is okay. Pulling the covers up slightly she grabs her phone and instantly begins to text Eddie.

To Dad :
They're still running tests on P, so far everything has come back clear so we're still nowhere near finding out anything x

From Dad :
Is she doing okay though? It's not happened again? Are you on your own? The earliest flight I could get was tomorrow

To Dad :
It's not happened again. She's been her usual happy self this afternoon and she's nursing properly again so they've said that's a good sign. Wilmer's been here all day and since like 3am-ish. He's just had to go to work but he said he'll be back first thing tomorrow. I'll arrange for someone to pick you up from the airport, what time do you land?x

From Dad :
That's good. He's a good guy, Demi. Flight arrives at 11:23am. You need to try get some rest and don't stress out too much. Penelope is in the best place and she's got her guardian angel nana looking after her, hasn't she.

To Dad :
Okay, someone will be there to pick you up. I know, I'll try. See you tomorrow x

Placing her phone down on the table she sighs and rests her head against the back of the chair. It's been a tough day and she knows it would've been a whole lot harder if she hadn't had Wilmer by her side.

______

'Are you okay, Miss Lovato? Do you need anything?' A nurse asks peeking her head in the door as Demi lifts a fussing Penelope into her arms.

'I'm fine, thanks. She's just hungry.' Demi replies and the nurse smiles.

'Okay, just let us know if you need anything.' She says before closing the door again. Sitting down in the chair Demi smiles slightly as she lowers her top and let's Penelope latch on. It's a little after 2am and she managed to get some sleep before Penelope woke up. Glancing at her phone she can't help but smile as she sees a few unread texts from Wilmer.

From Wilmer :
Hey! How's things going? How's the little lady?

From Wilmer :
I'm hoping your lack of reply means you're actually sleeping which is great! Let me know when you wake up

Instantly she dials his number and hopes that he's not too busy at work.

'Hey, what you doing awake?' He asks instantly causing her to smile.

'Little miss needed feeding... Are you busy?'

'Not too busy for you. How are you feeling?'

'Good. I got some sleep and the hospital gave me food.'

'That's good. I reckon I'll be able to get in about 9 tomorrow, do you want me to bring you some breakfast? I can stop by that little place you like and get you an omelette?'

'You don't have to do that, Wilmer. You've already done so much for P and I.'

'Like I said earlier, Dems. I care about you both and I want to do whatever I can to help.'

'An omelette would be amazing then.'

'Okay. Well I will bring one for you in the morning, do you still just take the same in it?'

'Yep, exact same.'

'Okay. I need to get back to work but I'll text you when I'm on my way tomorrow.'

'Okay. See you tomorrow.'

'Try get some more sleep.'

'I will.'

They both hang up and she glances down at Penelope who's smiling up at her. She runs her fingers through the little girl's hair before posting a single tweet.

'Such a scary 24 hours... So blessed to have some special people in my life who will be here when I need them '
