"Litten, I choose you!" I exclaimed, without hesitation.
The Litten just looked back at me, and licked it's leg. But then, it suddenly jumped into my arms.
"Easy!" Oak exclaimed. "Don't want to drop him!"
The Litten purred back at me. Surely it must've chosen me too!
"Here, if you want to become a pokèmon trainer, you're gonna need these."
Professor Oak handed me 10 pokè balls, and I simply replied,
"Thank you!"
"This is how you use a pokè ball." Oak carried on saying. "First, you get your bag, get the pokè ball and throw it at a wild pokèmon. Here, try it on this wild pokemon!"
Unpredictably, Oak poked me into the grass, and a wild pokemon appeared! The name was 'Pikipek'. I threw a pokè ball at the Pikipek. I asked,
"How do I know if I caught the pokèmon?"
Professor Oak replied saying,
"If it shakes 3 times, there's a very high chance you will catch the pokemon. You will know when you've caught the pokemon when it doesn't try and get out of it,which is the shaking!"
It did exactly what Oak had said. I had now registered Pikipek in the Pokèdex, and it was now in my party!
"Thank you, Oak!" I replied.
"Wait, Matthew! There is one more thing you need to know," he shouted back.
He pointed at a girl walking up towards him."This, will be your friend, who will help you and your pokèmon. Her name is Dawn."
