There was a raging thunder storm outside my window, flashing shadows across my wall and a pounding in my ears. My screaming must have been louder than the roaring thunder, for Emma came running into my room, looking panicked.

"Oh, sshhh. It's alright," she cooed as her arms cradled me.

I softened my screams for a minute as she did her expression.

Then another roaring clap of thunder came, causing my cries to erupt.

"Oh, will you please be quiet?" she begged, "Please don't wake that monster u-"

"Will you shut the %*#* up!" Niall demanded, as he came rushing into my room.

My tears and wails grew as he yelled.

"Niall, will you please stop shouting?" Emma hissed, "Your scaring her!"

"I'm scaring her? No, the thunder's doing that. I'm just trying to make that %$*# shut up!"

He tried to lunge at me, but Emma turned her back, hugging me tightly.

"Stop it! Stop it!" she yelled, practically begging him with tears.

"I haven't got a wink of sleep since that thing arrived a few days ago, so shut up!" Niall yelled and luged at her back.

She brought her foot to his shin, once he was close enough, and kicked it as hard as she could.

He screamed in pain and hunched over.

The room fell silent as the three of us finally noticed that the thunder had stopped.

Emma was panting and staring at Niall in disbelief. Her eyes met with his blue ones, and caused them to glance down in shame.

"You don't deserve her," Emma whispered, "You don't deserve what you have."

Niall sighed and then shouted, "Your right! I don't deserve her!"

"I don't deserve her," he repeated more quietly, "I don't deserve this life. I don't deserve this $%*$ publicity. I don't deserve anything! Not even a *#%$ from anyone! I don't deserve anything."

Emma stared back at the broken man in shock.

"I, uh-" she began but was cut off by him.

"Shut up!" he yelled, "You don't have a say because you don't know what really happened! I heard Jackie tell you my painful backstory! But she didn't tell you what really happened to my parents!"

"She-"

"She didn't tell you who else was in the car! Not only my parents, but my fiancé, my cousin, and my son! And she didn't tell you how they really died!"

The room fell silent as Emma waited for an answer.

"Niall, I-" she began but he yelled, "Stop! Stop trying to make things better! Your just making them worse! You just being here, and holding the girl in your arms, reminds me to much of her! The way you comfort the baby and talk to her, that's to much like Jenna!"

Niall stopped, his breathing short and raspy, as Emma held me close to her chest. I could her the beating of her heart, quickened to an abnormal pace, which matched mine.

"You don't know what really happened that night," Niall whispered and then took a deep breath and yelled, "I did it! I drove that car strait into their SUV! I didn't stop as the cars collided! I killed them, Emma! I killed them! And I'm the one who lived! I'm the $#*% one who lived!"

Niall's face was taken over a look of shock, that reflected Emma's, as soon as he said that. He panted and stared deep into her dark brown eyes. Then he ran.

He ran through the doorway and down the hall, soon to disappear around a corner.

"C'mon, Martha," Emma said as she grabbed a blanket from my crib, "We need to find your father."
