*4 years later*

"Yeah. Mmhm, I complete agree. Yes, of course. Okay....yeah....alright. Bye Julie; I love you too...bye." After an hour of talking with my sister, I slammed the phone down only to be met by his curious eyes.

"What was it this time?" He asked me with a chuckle.

"She wants me to visit home again." I laughed with mock horror. "Can you believe she actually wants me to come back?" I watched my husband grin slightly as he leaned against the kitchen doorway, grabbing an apple quickly from the counter bowl.

"She misses you. It's been nearly four years, Al."

"Yeah, I know how long it's been, Josh. I remember very clearly when we moved." No one really understood my side of the story when it came to us leaving; not even Josh. Once we got married I told him we needed to leave. We needed to out on our own and start our own lives. His family was perfectly fine with that, still coming out every other weekend to see us. My family on the other hand absolutely resented me for leaving the place I grew up. My mother of all people would hold a grudge forever, I knew that much for sure. My old home held too many memories that I didn't want to remember.

"Hey," Josh slowly put his hands up in surrender, before taking a bite of the apple in his hand. "I get it, Allie. We moved because you wanted to get away from your family. Live life without them; just me and you."

If only he really knew.

I sighed a small sigh, nodding my head as I leant forward to rest my elbows on the kitchen counter and run my hands over my face. "I just wish she would understand, you know? After all this time, she just can't let it go."

"She'll come around eventually." I ran a quick hand through my dark hair, tugging on a few knots that I didn't quite get with the brush this morning. "And just think, if we had stayed back in London, I might actually still be apart of that silly band that was already headed down the drain." Josh's laugh echoed through the kitchen where it was just the two of us.

I forced a small smile, trying my best not to go back to any memories I had back in London.

"Mmm, yeah. Imagine...." With my eyes now closed, I heard his heavy footsteps along the wood floor and two hands were suddenly on my shoulders.

"John needs me down at his place to fix some things with his car. I'll probably be crashing there tonight so don't wait up for me, okay?"

I stood up, slightly shrugging his hands off of me while I turned to look up at him. "Okay, just make sure to actually come home this time." I joked with him, reaching my hands forward to fix the collar of his t-shirt. "Remember what happened last time you and John fixed that damn car. You stayed there for nearly three days straight!"

He laughed his all to familiar laugh ad then leaned down to press a small kiss to my lips. "I'll be home tomorrow afternoon. Count on it."

I smiled against his lips before he pulled away to grab his keys from the table next to us. "I will. I'll tell her you said bye."

I watched him nod his head at me as he usually did when he left, some kind of man thing I always assumed. "Love you."

"You too." And with that, he was out the door, shutting it behind him; something I was a little too familiarized with.

Taking a deep breath, I looked around the small kitchen then walked into the large living room to be met with her small face staring up at me.

"Did daddy leave again?" Sometimes I missed the days when she didn't know how to talk. Now she was talking beyond what normal kids her age even imagined.
