Krysten's P.O.V.

I ran down the sidewalk of downtown Los Angeles excitedly. I swung around the corner of a tall building and sprinted across the road as soon as no cars were coming. I ran down the opposite side of the street just as fast as before until I came to the park entrance. I ran into it and along the blooming flowers alongside the cobblestone path through the middle, all the while grinning from ear to ear.

Mitch was already there, standing at the crossroads where another path intersected the one I was on. He was facing away from me, totally oblivious to my approach.

I grinned and leapt on top of his back with a roar of triumph. He yelped, unready for my attack, and fell down, with me laying on top of him and him facing up. I smirked down at him. "Hi." I said.

Mitch laughed and pushed me off of him. "Hi Krysten." He said.

"I grabbed his hand as he was standing up and dragged him off towards the kid's play set. "Come on, let's go swing!"

Mitch laughed and matched my pace, but I didn't let go of his hand.

It had been a year and a half since Mitch asked me to go out with him. It was now August, and a gorgeous one at that.

I had moved into an apartment with my best friend Tricia, an anime-loving girl with spunk and a love for art. She never plays videogames, but finds the storylines of them interesting.

Along with us, Tord moved in as well. She was originally from Britain, and has the accent to prove it. She had more of a dark sense of humor, and she played video games with me all the time. Assassin's Creed, all forms of Halo, Call of Duty, Minecraft, you name it. She plays it. She also plays violin professionally. She plays at the Starbucks down the road from us every Saturday night and at a local church every Sunday morning. Tord also works with Tricia and I at the Starbucks part time during the week. She's the cashier, Tricia is the barista, and I'm the waitress. We've got a pretty nice Starbucks.

So you'd think that with all the Minecraft going on around me - my friend, my brother, my boyfriend - that I'd play too. In actuality, Id never really played. I mean I had an account and everything, but I just didn't feel like using it. Adam kept trying to persuade me to, but I never got around to it.

"Anything new?" I asked.

Mitch shrugged. "Jerome and I started a new survival series. You know, you could always-"

"I don't wanna play minecraft, Mitch. I just... Don't. Maybe someday." I interrupted.

Mitch rolled his eyes. "If I end up stuck with you for the rest of my life, you're playing Minecraft with me at some point."

I smiled and rolled my eyes. "Good luck with that." I said. I smirked and started to swing faster. "I betcha I can go higher than you!"

Mitch laughed and started to speed up as well. "You're on!"

We both swung higher and higher - although I'd gotten a head start, Mitch was faster. He beat me to the top, but only by a little bit. "Alright, you win!" We both laughed and started to slow down again. At around the halfway point, I jumped off and landed solidly on my feet. Mitch did the same not long after me. He attempted to do a roll to break his fall, but instead landed flat on his face.

I felt my phone buzz and pulled it out of the back pocket of my jeans. I'd gotten a text from Tricia. It read: "Where r u?! Ur late for wrk!"

"Shit!" I stuffed my phone in my pocket and turned around as Mitch climbed to his feet. "Sorry, babe, I gotta go!" I kissed him on the cheek and ran off down the path again.

Mitch smiled after me before turning and walking down the path opposite me.
